DO NOT Believe His Hype. It Will Lead to Disappointment, the Need for Revision Surgery.
Dr Cotrufo assures results he appears to be unable to achieve. When they don’t work out, he will gaslight you, have no problem being down right condescending, dismiss post op concerns and try to convince you the results you end up with are the best you will get.
I came to Dr Cotrufo to address concerns with my lower face jowls and lax crepey skin under my eyes. After a number of consults with Dr Cotrufo he advised my best option would be to have a mid face lift to relieve the weight falling onto my lower face to raise the cheeks combined with a lower blepharoplasty. I am 10 months down the line, 8 months spent fighting for revision surgery and the last 4 months being totally and blatantly ignored by Dr Cotrufo and his team and look worse than before surgery, minus the thousands of pounds.
I had surgery March 2025 with Dr Cotrufo at the Harley Health Village (HHV), and I was pleased post surgery being advised it went well and that with time when swelling goes down I would expect to see great results. Come May once the swelling had subsided and tape lifting my face north was gone I advised Dr Cotrufo about 3 dents that appeared either side of my eyes which got progressively worse and more noticeable and the return f lax under eye skin and sent images.
Dr Cotrufo acknowledged my message / mages and advised and I quote: “Hello. Of course. This where the sutures are. Thank you. Will make a plan when I see you for treatment prioritised (depends on swelling and other parameters when I examine you. Bottom line: do not worry, I will take care of you.”
Mid June I had a follow up appointment and examined by Dr Cotrufo. At this point the lax skin under my eyes was back now the swelling had gone, the jowls were still prevalent and I had a very flat face. I was advised by Dr Cotrufo I would be able to have revision surgery in September by means of fat grafting to my midface to provide volume raising the mid face to help the jowl issue I went for and grafting to the dents either side of my eyes and he will take care of it and I wouldn’t have to bear any costs. He also advised I should have had botox in my jaw and neck before surgery to prevent my “strong” jaw muscles pulling down my face – and thus the excuses for poor results started! He would also like me to have a second opinion by another surgeon he trusts with his family’s life.
Come July I had heard nothing from any other surgeon and chased his patient coordinator for a surgical date in September to be able to plan accordingly. Dr Cotrufo responded by advising he was in the process of moving clinics and his new clinic will be operational come October / November and revision cannot be done at the HHV. I responded to enquire as to why the surgery cannot be done at the HHV sooner as this is fixing an issue caused by Dr Cotrufo’s surgery to be advised there were no available dates at the HHV until November.
End of September I chased for an update on the new clinic and advised how upset I was that I am having to chase for issues to be resolved, caused by the surgery. I was then advised there was a date in November but I had to pay £2500 if I wanted the “complimentary” fat grafting (Fat grafting offered to resolve an issue Dr Cotrufo created during surgery). I didn’t accept this and expressed my concern it was not right and it should not be my cost to bear to fix.
Dr Cotrufo finally called and after being challenged with these poor results (looking worse than before surgery) he responded by gaslighting me, saying perfection doesn’t exist, I have wrinkles under my eyes because I’m wearing make up in the photo (exact photo below) and I have no patience because I work from home and spend too much time with my dogs and not other people!!! He advised he removed as much skin as he could under my eyes, which he clearly didn’t, and when asked what I was to do he said he didn’t know and I should consult a dermatologist. Luckily I recorded the entire phonecall otherwise no one would believe how ride this man actually is.
Dr Cotrufo repeated in his opinion this was a “complimentary” procedure and that I should consider his offer very nice and that he was very nice for even offering it and that he hasn’t offered to do this for anyone else and the £2500 costs stands if I wanted proceed in November at HHV. Dr Cotrufo ended the conversation advising he has already spent too much time talking to me as he has other patients waiting and that he would be in touch end of October to book in at his new clinic.
I made further attempts to chase up on the opening of the new clinic, and exceptionally politely despite the way I had been treated and I can confirm that out of a combination of half a dozen emails, direct whatsapp messages and phonecalls to him and his patient coordinators since the 5th November 2025 – 9th January 2026 not a single one has been acknowledged or answered.
Dr Cotrufo appears to have had no intention or correcting his surgical issues and instead make false promises to remedy, put you off continuously with the hope you go away and just accept the results and when that doesn’t work rescind on his own terms and conditions by advising you have to pay and when that doesn’t work, insult you, gaslight you and then ignore you. All whilst happily taking your money and leaving your looking worse than before.
