Hi everyone, it is now 18 months since my facelift and I am showing some photographs as promised. I will be 70 next birthday so I hope you will all agree that I did the right thing in having my facelift

This is me - 7 months on!

Well - I am refreshed which is what it said on the tin (or its what Dominic said i would be). Can't help thinking that if I was drop dead beautiful I would have appreciated a finicky perfectionist like Dominic who can tweak and mend and make a face look good without changing the features. HOWEVER, I would not have minded some "feature changes" myself. Or so I thought! and then I watched Brigitte Jones's Baby - I could not BELIEVE it was the same person from Brigitte Jones's Diary. What a shame - Rene Zelwegger had such a "different" face - it used to be so lovely - and now she looks just like all the rest. She should have gone to Dominic!

Here I Go!

Well this goes on for ever! Here I am on the start of week 6. The skin on my neck is stinging like mad (I have that sort of skin), my face is still very lumpy although it is getting a bit better every two or three days. My neck is still quite swollen and very hard and lumpy. It doesn't help that on my monthly check up my surgeon showed me pictures of others who were operated on at the same time as me (with their permission of course) - not a mark on them!!! But my age (68) is against me so I suppose I must expect to heal a lot slower than a lot of others. My scars are at their reddest now apparently. Have to say I'm as blind as a bat so it doesn't bother me. My jaw does not twang any more when I chomp my food, so all in all I am getting better - slowly, vereeee slowly....
At the moment I am a little disappointed cos my wrinkles are coming back as the swelling goes down. Admittedly, they are not as deep and I have been told to wait until the three month stage to get the full picture. I would like to get my upper and lower eyelids done, although my eyes have improved enormously from the temporal lift.
The reason I am so wrinkly is because I have started the Obagi regime which is very drying to start with. This is included in the price I paid. Once again, my face will get worse before it gets better – I am on day 5. Me trying to administer it is an absolute scream. I have all the products lined up (7 of them) and an instruction sheet – it is complicated. Every time I read the instruction sheet I put my glasses on and then take them off to apply the product, then put them back on again to check I got the instructions right – I do this for every stage of the process. This pallaver takes about 15 minutes cos you can’t get any of it in your eyes, up your nose or in your mouth. I’d better look bloody gorgeous this summer!
I have posted some piccies for you all to see. I just wish I could post the Surgeon’s piccies but they are not suitable for the site. They are no nonsense piccies and show the before and after really well. Never mind.
