CONSULT-COMPLETION- In good hands with Dr. Rousso
ORIGINAL POST
Dr Rousso designed my face today!
WORTH IT
I Didn’t know what to expect but it was Extensive: I arrived slightly early for consultation and was asked to complete a journal of paperwork before my appt. The facial photographer was very comprehensive, his long time & dedicated nurse was also knowledgeable & informational. Last but not least Dr Rousso walked in and designed my new face right before my eyes! They estimated at least 5-1/2 hours surgery with all his notes of written details. This is why I chose to pay HIM. He also had a very youthful doctor who is in fellowship sitting in the room quietly learning & listening during our appt. I need a specialist for this job so I opted OUT of the choice I was given to hire the intern. He will NOT be my surgeon, which was confirmed by scheduler afterward. She was delightful and asked Dr Rousso about the dates I had requested which he honored. She also went over several pages of homework and information for me to have accomplished before during and after surgery and gave me a copy. I guess you can tell I was there a while. I was pleased with the initial meeting and the date I was able to obtain for my facelift. (I Will Update my documentary as I get closer). Surgery is In Mid January. I have really been helped by all the other posts on RealSelf. I hope my experience will be great so it will be beneficial to all who are reading.

Getting nervous about chin implant
I’m reading your posts everyday and so thankful for your transparency with your experiences with your procedures and your doctors. There are more than a few RealSelfers who are removing their chin implants because they have dropped or ruined beautiful smiles or lumpy. I’m asking myself, is my old chin that bad to replace it with a chance of these occurring problems? Not sure this one is worth the gamble. A few questions for my doctor may be in order. I will all post no makeup pic later.

Was it really $30,000?

It was just shy of it including the CO2 and eyelid with SMAS Lip procedure because I removed the chin implant from work order. D it included all the supplies and sitter for 1 might stay. Upper lip is mostly gone.

I’m not sure what my PS is going to suggest about the lips. I have a followup in May. I would like to have something done to my chest (CO2, etc) or dark spots and sun damage and I told my PS that I might add back the chin implant he recommended t that time. I was scared of the witches chin that it can look like from a facing position and most doctors are looking at correcting the profile.and I was scared of movement from a foreign boy after looking at many reviews on RS Most people tell me I don’t need it.

The laser on your chest sounds great! I just had the Erbium laser on my face and BOOM all of my sun damage is gone! It’s the best thing for removing fine lines and dark spots.
I like a defined chin. I think it’s sexy. Look at all these models, they all have that chiseled look.

I clicked the brow lift and WOW you looked awesome. I love your hair!!! I’m letting mine grow again.

Hi again!
I just looked at your hair style and it seriously suits your face! I sometimes think I’m too old for longer hair, but I do like it better when I have enough hair for a ponytail.
Can I ask you how old you are?
Do you exercise and eat healthy? You look very healthy!!! And.... your eyes,,,, beautiful!!!!

I am 57. I am a 30 yr retired interior designer/biz owner now certified nutritionist. Concentrating on myself for a change. I drink water, coffee, tea made only from PH alkaline/mineral water from BPA bottle including shower to remove the drying chlorine Tony hair & skin I can send a link for filter I use.. I eat very little processed foods. However I eat too much and I’m working on that too since I need to lose another 10! I can run circles around my 4 adult sons but I tend to do too much and my adrenals can blow from stress if I am not paying attention The 2nd phase of life is going to be a blast. I’m considering a New Masseratti.

April 7, 2019
You certainly lead a healthy lifestyle! I’m a huge coffee drinker as well, and Dunkin’ Donut is my choice of caffeine.
I wish I could say I drink water, but I’m just not a fan of it. I workout everyday, and really don’t drink enough water, but plenty of coffee. :-(
You have lots of energy and sounds like a flair for life!!
I’m retired too after working 23 years in retail. It was my mad money for all of my plastic surgery shenanigans.
Where do you live? I’m in Illinois.
Wow, a new Maserati!! That’s an awesome car!!

April 7, 2019
You look super thin to be a doughnut eater! I just moved back to Alabama from Florida a yr ago. That’s why my chest needs some help. My parents are aging and my sister passed away. I think I should put your pretty hair on my head if I get the car. Lol! The water tastes good . It’s silky smooth because it removes all the thickness from chemicals. Several years ago I was dehydrated & had sciatica because I used to hate the taste of water. You should research regarding your water choices & why it is such a Big Deal to drink it.

April 7, 2019
I’ve never been to Alabama! I met my hubby in a Florida. I’m not a fan of Florida, it’s way too humid and the seems like everyone is old and antiquated. Lol
I can’t believe you have both parents alive!! God bless them.
So you like alkaline water, and drink it often. I really must start drinking it more, especially since I get UTI often. Yuk.
I had sciatica too! Talk about being in pain!!!
Ok, you convinced me to incorporate water into my daily routine. Thx my friend!
Yes, I do have a sweet tooth for donuts! But I really try to eat healthy otherwise.
You don’t eat processed food at all?

April 7, 2019
I am not restricted butI just try to do what I can to eliminate chemicals and toxin build up
I have clean air purifier, good water and sleep system for my beauty sleep. I need to take notes and cut down on red meat like you. But once I changed my lifestyle it changed my life. I like alkaline and mineral water. I haven’t purchased bottled water in 4 years! No heater plastics for me. I color my hair so the shower heads keep the chlorine from making it look brittle.

April 7, 2019
Do you only eat organic veggies and fruit?
Your skin must be perfect. It looks lovely in your review. All of that water, hydrates the skin!
My hair can look brittle after I have it colored too.
Do you have a water system in your house? What’s the difference between alkaline and mineral water?

April 7, 2019
I eat Certified organics as much as possible I Have lots of energy. It’s like the water, it tastes better. Even my coffee! I have good skin but being in Florida enjoying the sun, I didn’t take care if it until too late. I know better now. Its common sense and not very hard. If your body is not flushed with water, things can go wrong. I like my body to stay in good ph because if it is (acidic), the dirty fluids can build up & stagnate like sitting on a pond There are many water choices. Most filters only remove chemicals (dead water) which leaves your body with no minerals like the Fresh waters running from the streams & rocks Our body requires minerals. I have a portable alkaline mineral water on my kitchen island and an easy screw in shower head. All of It only cost me less than $500 and I have had it 4 years I change the filter 1 time a year for around $50.
I refill my water bottle and cook with it.
It’s the bomb. .Do you want the link to your inbox so can research it for yourself? My husband’s doctor told him it was important for his prostate and my mom’s cardiologist told her it was perfect for her heart.

April 7, 2019
My gosh. You are extremely educated with the benefits of water and all different toxins. You mentioned that you’re a nutritionist too!? If you go out to eat you don’t drink the water?
I’d love the link, and become knowledgeable like you.
I find you to be so incredibly interesting!! Pass it on!!! I’m now incorporating water, but honestly it will probably be bottled water. Just curious where you got the alkaline water for the kitchen

Interested in your outcome as i am consider similar surgery with Dr. Rousso in February except cheek implants were recommended as well. I'm now reviewing chin implant info after reading your concerns.

December 3, 2018
I hope everything goes wonderful for you. All my neighbors are excited to see my results! Are you also in Birmingham? I’ll be doing due diligence all the way up to the day of surgery. Dr Rousso is definitely an expert in his field but we all have to live with our decisions about our face and it needs to work for our personal lifestyles and timelines. At 57, I have been given new opportunities for the 2nd half of my life and need to make sure I look MY BEST but also heal as quickly & reasonably possible. Wish he could post more recent photos because they help so much. I am concerned about both the forehead lift and chin implant being a big challenge for me physically and mentally. Johnna is so helpful and she will take it off the order if I don’t want to do it. I may need another consultation after having time for reviewing his recommendations now that I have more understanding of the process. I Just get really scared. I really didn’t have questions on my 1st consult but I do have notes now with concerns that for sure he can answer. I had a question but his fellow called me instead of Dr Rousso.
December 4, 2018
Yes, I'm in the Birmingham area. Also noticed that you were recommended for cheek implants as well. He indicated I would not get the results I'm looking for without them so i have reviewing comments here about this procedure. I've noticed where some have indicated the implants have shifted so need to reach out and find out how they are secured to avoid this issue. I have also been reviewing the forehead reduction. My hair is already thin so don't need it to thin out anymore. I am wanting to keep my procedure on the down low so not publicizing it other than here. I also need to go back to work after 2 weeks so hoping everything goes as expected. I've been looking for additional information on the SMAS for lips and NL and ML folds but have found anything. Have you?

December 4, 2018
I relate totally about the hair. My hair is fine and receding due to menopause and that is also a concern. I told His nurse that I had been losing hair before the forehead reduction was suggested and she suggested using Rogain. From the posts I have read. 2 weeks is very soon to return to work. I just read some experiences with SMAS lips and it is NOT reversible. I will see if I can find it and I can send inbox you. My personal goal is to have obvious and definite positive results as well as long lasting results. When you get a little more information on these areas from Dr R would you keep me in the loop? It sounds like you and I are needing about the same type procedures. I’ll be praying for our wisdom as we proceed forward. Feel free to reach out anytime.
December 9, 2018
Add me in the loop---I'm scheduled for a temple cheek neck lift with endoscopic forehead lift, upper and lower eyelids, SMAS lips, Plasma Skin resurfacing on my nose, forehead, eyelids, cheeks, and a perioral chemical peel around my mouth. (Yikes!) I was just thinking about how to get rid of deep lines and do an eyelid lift, but after my consultation with Dr. Rousso, it seems wise to get it all done at once. You're right---the SMAS lips are not reversible, but the pics I saw in the office show that he is very conservative. I had no idea the cost would be close to $30,000 though---were you surprised?

December 9, 2018
It was pretty close to my thoughts. This also includes nurse and overnight. When are you scheduled?

December 13, 2018
Hi I was thinking I should check back to ask when your surgery date is scheduled?
December 30, 2018
Thanks so much for your thoughts! I’m scheduled for surgery Feb 26, and have 2 more consults with Dr Grotting and Dr OBrien. I’ve had recommendations for both of these surgeons from friends. I’d like to get their thoughts on my lines and eyelid lift—-

December 17, 2018
I'm working with Johnna on that right now. Had some skin cancer remove on Dec 12 so having to wait until that is healed. I'll let you know. Looking forward to seeing your results although like others have commented you are already beautiful!

December 17, 2018
I am very very nervous and I really appreciate your comments. Keep in touch.
December 23, 2018
Good luck! Keep us posted!
