Two Weeks Post Op Update!

WORTH IT
Two weeks post op…
The Swelling is staring to go down. Im still bruised on neck and feel a little tight in the neck area and sides of the face are numb. That is to be expected! This will take a while to get to the final result.
I walked a couple miles today, but still taking it easy overall. I’m really starting to see the results now and I think I’m going to love them.
I have a complimentary lymphatic massage at his office this next eeek. Dr Deuber has been great.
The best!! Highly recommend. 5 plus stars!

ORIGINAL POST

deep mobile plane face and neck lift

At 53 years old, I had been researching surgeons and considering a deep plane face and neck lift since I was around 49 or 50. Dr. Mark Deuber refers to his technique as the “Mobile Deep Plane” facelift. I interviewed six different doctors, with prices ranging from approximately $28,000 to well over $300,000 for essentially the same procedure, a deep plane face and neck lift with earlobe reduction.

Some of the bigger names I consulted with included Amir Karam in Del Mar, whose pricing was around $150k, and Nayak in St. Louis, whose pricing exceeded $300k. I also interviewed several well known local surgeons in Dallas.

After years of research, watching hundreds of videos, and going on many consultations, I ultimately chose Dr. Mark Deuber and I am very happy with my decision.

Part of the reason I felt so comfortable with Dr. Deuber was because he had previously performed my upper blepharoplasty two years ago. I had zero complications, healed beautifully, and literally have no visible scar. That experience gave me tremendous confidence in both his surgical skill and his aesthetic eye.

I have always taken excellent care of myself. I use sunscreen daily, invest in medical grade skincare, never smoked, and I do not drink alcohol, simply by personal choice. I am a pescatarian, eat very clean, and work out five to six days a week. Because of that, I wanted a surgeon who could deliver natural refreshed results without making me look overdone or unlike myself.

Eight days ago, I underwent Dr. Deuber’s Mobile Deep Plane face and neck lift.

From the very beginning, I felt completely at ease. I was given a 10:30 arrival time, with surgery scheduled around noon. Once I arrived, the staff took me back, checked my blood pressure, and asked all the standard pre op questions. Everyone was calm, professional, and reassuring.

Dr. Deuber came in to mark me up before surgery and immediately made me feel confident that everything would go smoothly. His calm demeanor and confidence really helped settle any nerves I had.

I walked into the OR around noon, and honestly, that is the last thing I remember. When I woke up, I had no pain at all. I felt a little groggy of course, but overall very comfortable.

I stayed overnight at the surgical center, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Nurse Karen. She is truly a gem. She treated me like family and made me feel cared for every step of the way. The night nurse was also amazing, constantly reassuring me, checking on me, and reminding me how great everything looked and how well I was doing.

The next morning I went home around 10 a.m. with a steroid pack, antibiotics, and instructions to use Tylenol or ibuprofen as needed.

What really stood out to me was the level of follow up care. Both Nurse Terrye and Karen checked on me while I was home recovering, which meant so much to me. I truly felt cared for throughout the entire process and never felt like “just another patient.”

On Day 3, I returned to have the hemostatic netting removed. I had been nervous it might leave marks, but just as Dr. Deuber promised, it did not.

Honestly, all along I felt remarkably good. By the third day I honestly probably could have worked out, but I followed Dr. Deuber’s instructions carefully and took it easy so I could heal properly.

Days 4 through 6 were mostly spent resting at home. By Day 7, I was able to take a small walk around the block and was feeling much better.

Today on Day 8, I went back to see Dr. Deuber because I had a little swelling in my neck that was not resolving as quickly as he hoped. He placed a small drain and reassured me that sometimes healing is not perfectly linear even when you do everything right.

I am now home resting, and almost all of the swelling has already gone down.

One thing I truly appreciate about Dr. Deuber is that he genuinely cares about his patients. He has been attentive, reassuring, and proactive throughout this entire process. It is comforting to know you are in the hands of a surgeon who not only has incredible skill, but also compassion.

Even though I am still early in recovery, I can already tell I am going to love my results. I still look like myself, just refreshed, rested, and younger.

I will absolutely post another update in a few weeks, but so far I am incredibly happy with my decision to trust Dr. Mark Deuber and his wonderful staff.
