Facelift countdown! January 3

Facelift Countdown!

WORTH IT$16,000

I am doing it! I will be traveling to Seattle to get a facelift (neck and lower face) and I’m excited! Having had done the tummy tuck last year I am less anxious than I was then. Been reading as much as I can. As I will be staying in a hotel for like 10 days, what are some suggestions of “must have” to add to my list? So far I’ve gathered the following: No over the head clothes, scarf (not a problem since I live in a cold place), straws, books.

Suggested foods I can have in room: baby food, banana, strawberries, oranges, protein drinks, apple sauce, jell-o. Any suggestions are helpful. This will be 1/3/22. I’ve decided to not look in the mirror until maybe one week after. I have read this can be really stressful and the way I am I can see I would go crazy and worry to no end. If you go to work (remote) maybe on day 3-4, are you able to talk without pain? Please, share your insights :-)

I am all packed and ready to go in 10 days. The hotel where I am staying has suites, with kitchen and all. I will be bringing food with me as I don't want to expose myself to others (COVID) by going to the store after arrival. Will just go straight to hotel until the next day when I go for the procedure.
I scheduled my COVID test. I was asked for a PCR one, and since the New Year's holiday is in between, I am doing two PCR tests at two different places. Hoping one of them will arrive on time. One of the places asked me if it was for a medical procedure and I said yes, as they said in those cases, they do get them expedited. I have to bring the test with me the day of surgery (since the procedure is on a Monday). I am not as freaked out as with the tummy tuck. I am really excited and so looking forward to it. I will post after the procedure. Wish me luck!

Know anyone that can help me the first 24 hours in Seattle?

sun_lover

Hi!

I made the decision to do a neck and lower face lift. I will be traveling to Seattle to get it done on Jan 3 and wondering if you know anyone that could pick me up from surgery center and stay with me in my hotel til the next day when I go for the first checkup? No medical experience needed, just a responsible adult that can check the discharge instructions and check on me here and there. Any insights would be appreciated.

Well, nobody responded :-( But I was able to find a nurse in the area that will stay with me for 24 hours. The person was recommended by my doctor's office.

Day 1

sun_lover
It is done! Everything went great. Procedure started around 9:30 and was out of there by one. Sharing some before and after pics. I initialed said I wasn’t going to peek but…

Got to hotel with a nurse I hired to stay with me for 28 hours.
The day before I had prepared breakfast, jello and soup which came in handy. My throat was a little sore from the tube and everything else was numb.
I was hungry so I had chicken soup, took the antibiotic and half a Percocet. I couldn’t really sleep so chatted quite a while with the nurse and we watched TV.

As the day went on I took another half Percocet, And when it was time to sleep I started to get uncomfortable from the drains so I took another half and a final half in the middle of the night.
The doctor called around 9pm to check on me which was very nice. I go late this afternoon to get the drains removed.
I had to sleep with head up (two pillows under) and I also put pillows on my sides to avoid turning at night and sleeping on the side.
I cannot turn my head without turning my upper body slightly. Probably the right sensation I feel in the neck. Not an issue since I don’t have anything to do.

I was a little swollen when I got to hotel but that increased as the day went on.

Pain is probably a 3 out of 10. It is more being uncomfortable from the drains.
