Had a Consult.

Did a consult for a face/neck lift. I had forgot to ask some questions. I mentioned that but unless they grabbed the doc, it seemed I couldn't ask. I have concerns about jowls, nasal labial folds. I get that he had to go to his next appointment. I haven't scheduled surgery yet. I was also interested in technique.

Did you schedule the surgery? Just want to say technique the surgeon uses so important. You are much younger, I am 56 and had my facelift 9 weeks ago. So happy. I look better as every week goes by, jaw line become more chiselled as swelling is going away. Cheeks are high, as they were when I was young. My surgeon did “deep plane” - I believe this technique gives the most lasting and the most natural looking facelift. I did not do forehead, did not need it, only neck , cheeks, temples. Interesting to know what techniques are used for younger women.

I am 50 years old and I am starting think about going for a consult. I will have to check both your comments on the type of face lift ...I do need it for my neck mainly and bottom of face in general , not sure on the forehead since i had my eyes done 2 years ago by removing excess skin and all

There's no way I'd have this doctor do this surgery, sorry. That staff should have had him back in there to answer the few questions you had left. I had two lifts with top surgeons in NYC. No way I'd go back to this doctor for an actual procedure.

Surgery date is early February. Will post before photos closer to the date. I'm 48 years old. I'm always nervous when it comes to any surgery. I can work out after three weeks. Apparently, it's a low pain recovery that looks worse than it is.

Follow up consult for face & neck lift

Met with my surgeon today since I forgot questions to ask at my consult. He said the face lift (SMAS) incision will hug the ear, but part of the incision will be right in front of the tragus. He said it would look like like a natural crease. In my research, a lot of docs do it behind the tragus and I asked about that, but he said that can make the tragus stick out more after healing. Has anyone heard that? I also asked about neck lift and he will lipo the neck and anchor the muscle behind the ear and that will also be where my scar will be. It seems most people have a scar under the chin.
I guess my nerves are starting to get to me. He's a very experienced surgeon and does about a 100 face lifts a year (he did my eyes & nose years ago). I want to have long lasting and good results. #nerves My pre-op is in two weeks.

I had face and necklift April 2021. Mine was behind the tragus . My tragus are firm and stick out a bit more. Of course i am a perfectionist. It depends on his out comes. Look at other people he did. You can see what his skill is in hiding that scar. There will be scars. Unfortunately you can not avoid it.Good luck!

It’s possible my tragus sticks out more but that is the least of my problems as my actual ears especially my tips stick out now whereas before my FL it was pinned perfectly. The PS says it will settle but I doubt it will. I will need to have surgery to have it pinned but will give it a full year.
If I do have any scars it’s probably hidden in the crease of my ear and so it’s not noticeable.
