3 weeks post op for my full SMAS face lift at Opera South Korea

I'm 3 weeks post op today. I am posting my progress so you all can see how my result is coming along. So far I like how my face turned out although I still have some swelling. It doesn't hurt hurt but some spots are tender to touch still.

Full Facelift, Midface Lift and Brow Lift

Opera came across my path when I was researching for a good plastic surgery clinic in Kangnam. I have been searching since 2020. Back then, foreigners who enters South Korea had to stay in quarantine for 2 weeks. Didn't have enough time for both quarantine and post op care, I waited. September 2022, I once continued my search and was ready for my beautification journey. There was no more quarantine required. There are so many plastic surgery clinics on Kangnam Daero alone. With this fierce of competition, I wonder why those patient representatives gave out ridiculous quotes I got quotes for midface lift ranging from 5 mil Kwon to 11 mil Kwon between 6 plastic surgery clinics in Kangnam. So confusing! I don't want to overpay or pay for mediocre jobs. Hence, I decided to go with my intuition. After texting back and forth with patient representative (PR) Tina from Opera, I had a video consultation with Dr. K. He was very calm and gave me (suggestions) only what needed for my face. He was NOT pushy. I felt comfortable after the video consultation. I made my deposit to reserve my surgery spot for Saturday November 12, 2022. I arrived a day before my surgery date to have f2f consultation with my two surgeons, Dr. Park IL Ho for facelift and Dr. Lee Seung Woo for brow lift. I requested two doctors because I didn't want to exhaust one doctor for a surgery duration of 7 hours. I was afraid that last hour of my surgery, he would be too tired to do his sutures beautifully. This will result in bad scars....I know I worry too much. Opera is not a big facility. It's small, clean and functional. The both doctors took time to answer all my questions and concerns. When they talked fast, I slowed them down so Tina could translate better. When talking to them, I talked slow so Tina could relate my messages best. I read some reviews saying doctors didn't seem to take time to answer questions and patient concerns. It could be that patient made her f2f consultation during the day when doctors have surgeries to perform. My f2f was at 5:30pm. I was the last patient there that day.
I fast for 8 hours before surgery. I got jetlag and couldn't sleep the night before surgery so I got to Opera early...too early that no one was there yet. My surgery was scheduled at 10am. I got there at 9am. Poor Tina! She had to rush to Opera since she had to "escort" me...she was with me every meetings, the day of my surgery and de-swelling sessions. There was a few locals, few foreigners from different part of Asia and me. I changed into a gown. My belongings put in a locker. Tina kept my key. They gave me antibacterial soap for my face and some solution to gargle. This solution sanitized my mouth although I already brushed my teeth that morning. In the operation room, there was three nurses; an anesthesiologist (she is very nice and has very good bedside manner); Tina and doctors. I felt like I was the center of attention yet nervous as heck. Started with Dr. Lee for my brow lift. The anesthesiologist put me under for a quick moment to inject numbing shot...then I found myself awake when Dr. Lee cut, nipped and cauterizing ...I even talked to him while he performed my brow lift. Weird!!!!I then looked at the anesthesiologist telling her I wanted to be under for my facelift...she laughed and told me not to worry. Next thing I knew that my nurse tried to wake me up...I woke up...so woozy though...she gave me some warm water....then Tina called my name and asked me how I felt. I said I was a bit dizzy. By this time, it was 8ish pm, no one else was there. Yet my nurse Hanna and Tina didn't usher me out. They both told me to take my time. Hanna even asked me to rest some more. I didn't want to hold them up so I asked Tina to escort me to my hotel. It was raining so hard the minute I got out of the clinic. Thanks to Tina's help or else I couldn't make it back to my hotel room. Tina even brought me some porridge and bread. She helped me settle in my bed before taking off. I am so thankful to the whole Opera team. I'm 12 days post op. I like my result so far. I still have some bruises and a bit of swelling. I'm writing this review on my own term. I'm not paid by Opera for this review I'm 50 years old who traveled to Korea solo. I'm not Korean. I don't speak Korean. Reason why I write this review this detail is to encourage and reach out to people like me. I hope you guys can learn a thing or two from my review. Opera did a lot for me. Don't hesitate to consider Opera for your beautification journey!
