So I decided to post pictures 4 years later of my botched facelift, so I picked up my hair just so you can get an idea of what I have to go through, I no longer can put my hair up in a ponytail or a bun because my scars, it as been very depressing for me, and the doctor has never given a sh___
Never go to a doctor when they are full of them selves. He had a Don"t care attitude when I reached out to him and just directed me to his secretary. His demeanor change after my surgery, but before my surgery of course he was very attentive

Response from Dr. Hochstein:
Every surgery involves some kind of scarring and; although most people heal well, there is no way to know prior to the surgery who will scar badly. Seeing the post op picture, you can see the incision is closed perfectly meaning I did my part in setting her up for success. I never tried to convince her that everything was OK, On the contrary, I actually agreed with her & offered to redo it for free. All she had pay for the anesthesia since that is out of my hands.

Every case is different. Sorry to hear about results you have. Hopefully you have options available to improve your situation, both physically & emotionally. It seems the doctors reply is a fair assessment. Anyone undergoing a procedure hopes for the best ... Sometimes results are not as intended, corrective measures hopefully are an option.

The reason for the update was to pick a doctor that is focused on face , not 25 things, my mistake was I saw 2 pictures and I contacted One of his patients on RealSelf and we went back-and-forth regarding her mid lift, and she had to go back in for the second procedure again, she had to repair her right side of her ear, same issue as mine, but with work and living in NYC and not enough$ to go back to Florida not enough $to spend on an anesthesiologist and not enough$ for a hotel stay I couldn't do it. How many people asked why I didn't go back it would have cost me $5000 just to get repaired, what should've never been done right in the first place, i posted an upsadate so that people who are considering mid lift do their research and pick a facelift doctor. Not every body part doctor. So please research, I have such obvious cars that you can tell sides which I completely have to cover all the time, my ears look good they've been bent inward. Just horrible.

I'm sorry your experience was unsatisfactory, Honestly I think your should search for a doc in your area that specializing in scar revision. I think it would be worthwhile and there would be no travel involved. They can do wonders with lasers these days. NYC has some of the best! I wish you peace on your journey.

I TOTALLY agree with you that finding a surgeon who ONLY does facelifts is critical. I also found one who was The Best Plastic Surgeon in America. My results have been so frustrating. AND it cost me a fortune. Buyer beware.
June 22, 2021
Yup. I've always done my research and only gone to 'the best' surgeons (highly rated), etc. The worst is when a) a doctor does not go over the risks (surgeon who did my revision rhinoplasty and did not discuss risks until after BAD results and I wanted a redo--Dr. Rohrich) . b) Surgeons who don't stand by their patients who are not satisfied and do not offer a solution. There are, of course, risks involved in any surgery and no guaranteed results. However, doctors should be responsive to unsatisfied patients and try to offer an acceptable solution (free fix).

If you hadnt shown the scars, we never would have seen them Show your whole face

Oliver, I understand but it's not my whole face that's the problem, my problem is is when I pick up my hair my scar is a very noticeable and when I was looking through his pictures and his office the first thing I asked I have large scarring he said my scarring will only be behind my ear, if you view my pictures you can see it goes all the way below my ear lobe it's disgusting. So I believed him when he said that the only scar I would have would be behind my ear.
April 7, 2021
"Oliver's" comment was his first post ever that I can find on RS. P,ues "he's" been a member for a number of years. Ignore it.
April 8, 2021
Why should i be ignored, because its my first post?
I said nothing offensive.
I would not have noticed the scars under her ears if she had not pointed them out.
Also, my dog is named Oliver
You dont need to stalk

LOL, replying and doing some homework isn't stalking you.

Exactly. Show your face so we can "see" your results instead of reading about them

I have a few behind my ears that are raised I don't understand by these surgeons do not include scar CO2 laser resurfacing to eliminate unhappy costumers. It's a simple procedure and good for their business.

MY LIFT SO NOTICEABLE, my aunt had her facelift done in her 70s nothing at all compared to what I received, she looks great,But I chose not to go out of the country because I was afraid that something could happen to my face but it ends up happening in the States. Also have a hair loss on both sides which will never grow back. I did this update so that no one has to make a wrong decision or choice of a doctor. RESEARCH

Hi there. I am the patient of Dr. Hochstein’s who’s photos you posted as an example of, as you say, the job done right.

First let me tell you that after I healed from the surgery I realized I had made a mistake when filling out my forms and opted for a scar that went in front of the ear and over basically losing my “sideburns.” I expressed this concern to Dr. H and he immediately offered to revise the sutures through the hair and I only paid for anesthesia. I am local and did not have the travel issues that you did but I do want to say that he was very understanding and my issues were addressed, keeping in mind I was the one that made the mistake when choosing the method during the signing of my consent forms.

The other thing I want to say is that I do have scars, kind of whitish like yours, under my ear lobe and behind my ear. They are visible so I just don’t put my hair up quite as tight as I used to. My 81-year-old mother who has had three facelifts in her life by two different plastic surgeons that specialize only in the face, still to this day has visible scars in the front and back of her ears.

I know saying this does not fix how you feel about the outcome of your surgery but I did want to let you know that no surgery is perfect. Everyone scars differently and there is no surgery that exists anywhere that leaves no scars.

If you’d like I am happy to give you my personal phone number to let you know how I make the scars less obvious. The overall work he did was so superb it looked like he took 15 years off my face so I work with those plastic surgery scars as they were one of the sacrifices I had to make to look younger.
Dr. H in also did my breast lift and reduction and while the scars are barely visible now they are still there. Again it is the price I paid for the overall effect. My unprofessional opinion is that there is nothing wrong with your surgery that he could not have fixed and from reading his reply he was willing to. Many doctors would never offer to redo your scars and especially at no cost. I have read horror stories where doctors have blocked patients from their office who have asked for minor revisions. Again, I know none of this makes how you feel better, but I did want you to know that the perfect surgery you posted is not perfect. No surgery is. And yes if I had to have a facelift I would go to Dr. H again. Scars and all.

Your results look really good. My facial plastic surgeon who practices solo in Franklin TN on Mallory lane went too deep and caused severe nerve damage. Which resulted in paralysis on the left side of my face and a speech impediment. It’s been 1.5 years and I still have issues with a slagging left side and now a slight speech issue. Unfortunately, It’s permanent though. He refunded my money on his part but I’m still out for the surgery center and anesthesia which was over 6,000.00. I had a redo recently by the most amazing Dr. Nick Sieveking to even up my face as the doctor in Franklin tn made me asymmetrical. The creepy doctor in Franklin tn lied to me for 8 months. I went along with it because it was Covid shutdown and really had no choice. I confronted him December 2020 after he told me once again a spew of lies. I looked at him and said that I wanted a refund and that we were D-O-N-E. He eventually gave me the refund but I’ll never get over the psychological damage that it did to me. I wish you the best.

Ladies these doctors are in it for the cash. That’s all they care about that’s all they want. Their skill level is often questionable
August 25, 2021
After they screw you up you up they will tell you look like a movie star. And continue to lie as long as you will listen. The longer you put off suing them the better for them

You, my friend, are SPOT ON. From one “Movie Star” to another.

I have similar situation with another doctor that is ranked with 5 stars on this website. My face asymmetrical, hardly any improvement to my jawline, completely flattened my cheeks ( which was my best feature). One coroof my mouth drops damaged the nerve to my ear, left me with bunched skin behind my ear and very visible scars on the sides of my face. Also. Made my eyes droopy and on top of all this I am in pain every single day for a year and two months from the scar tissues he created under my skin. I am depressed and devastated. He charged me 27k that I saved for for a long time. There is more- the hematoma that I got on the whole side of my neck - I was terrified that I will lose skin on my neck. My whole family was terrified. He gave me injection for hematoma that help but when I brought up the fact that I still have a a lot of drooping in my face he got mad at me and they stopped responding to my request to see him. Only after I started to post his office all of the sudden called me to come. I did not want to see him anymore. He has done so much damage to my face that I was afraid that he would do even more damage.

He never lipo under my chin as you can see in the pictures, I asked and was told I didn’t need t by his nurse. Also want to mention the only time. Saw hochstein one time and that was the day of surgery,
NEVER saw him after that everything spoken to with his office manager or nurse., he didn’t address my concerns until after the Posting., unfortunate that Dr. so given so much praise and after work is done they really don’t want to hear any complaining, And in my case it’s actually not a complaint photos are worth 1000 words it speaks for itself.
