Poor Reattachment of Face to Ear
I got a lower facelift from Dr H. She did achieve a nicely lifted jawline for me. However the new skin that was brought up to my ears from below the tragus down to the lobe was not attached flush or evenly. That area had thick skin at the new seam from which my earlobes were well hidden behind this area of my face. It looked unnatural. I asked her about this. She responded that is what happens when skin is pulled up, it is thicker and that is why it is no longer level when it meets up to the ear. Dr H further explained that 'this was my anatomy.' I thought this was strange since other people with facelifts did not have this issue. Subsequently plastic surgeon who happened to be injecting me with botox noticed how my skin attached to the lobes. I told him Dr H explanation and he laughed, 'That is not anatomy, that is poor surgery.' Sure enough several other consults later and that was the consensus. I ended up finding a PS that greatly improved how this area was attached to my face. I do not know medical terms but basically he opened up the incisions and thinned the skin so that it would meet up to my ears FLUSH. Despite that procedure being under only local anesthesia it still cost me more than Dr H original procedure.
