Four months out

WORTH IT$6,400
While my neck is still better than it was the jowls are returning. Very disappointing. Loved the youthful look the first two months out but feeling like the youthfulness was attributable in large prt to the swelling which is now pretty much gone.

oh good to know. would you not recommend? I still haven’t found any California docs who seem as good
Sorry to hear this. I’ve had similar results where the jowls have returned. Have you asked Dr H what can be done?
Hi can u pls post a pic
Wow, that's too soon. Good plastic surgery should last 10-15 years, sorry to hear that after what you've gone through.
Hello hdre, sorry to hear you are disappointed! May I ask why you rated your procedures as worth it? Will you be seeking a revision? Best wishes!
I rated it as worth it because it wasn't that uncomfortable and there is till sufficient improvement of my neck to make me happier than bore
Thank you for the reply !
Reading your review after you have pulled the photos, but interested in if the bumps on the right cheek have resolved?
Yep. That’s what happened to me... looked great for a few months and then jowls came back. With a different doc. Doesn’t matter. Sorry u went thru all that and didn’t get more longer term results.

I forgot to add that I am 56. I love it but still have slight bruising and a few lumps.

You look amazing and very beautiful.
Personally I don't believe anyone should be expected to post pictures with their review but if pics are included it would be most helpful, in order to get a realistic comparison, that the angles, lighting, and most importantly, the facial expression (resting/neutral as in your 2 befores) be the same. I do hope you'll continue to post pics periodically into the 1 yr mark. Thanks for your review. You look great!
You look great! Please keep us updated !
You look great. Can you please post pictures of both your ears without the bandages?
I missed seeing your pictures. Are you still happy with your results?

Artist

I am from S cal, the Mecca for plastic surgeons. I planned on having a lower face lift until my gf showed me pics of her lift with Dr David Harley in N Carolina. So I called and had a tele consult and then flew out for the surgery. Most of the reviews discuss how kind he is and his great work. I truly appreciate humility but that wouldn't me my basis for picking a surgeon. Dr Harley stands apart from the others because he gets how critical symmetry is to beauty. And, his work looks natural. Good dentist and good plastic surgeons have to be artists. Dr Harley is. Please know that I didn't heal as quickly as my girlfriend but still went back to work in a busy office as a corporate attorney within 10 days. I still have a few hard lumps on my right cheek one month out and still some slight bruising but I was walking around Asheville within four days of the surgery and already looked so much better than before the surgery. My issues that were addressed were Jowls and turkey neck. It is noteworthy that Dr Harley's smas procedure uses only Locals and sedatives and I felt nothing without having an IV. And his pricing is very reasonable which I didn't learn until I returned to S Cal and did a comparison.

How long was the operation? It was a lower face lift and neck lift joined? I am told it is safer to have general anesthesia because the airways can become blocked and best to have a nasal tube inserted through out the procedure to make sure this doesn't happen. Why was the local anesthesia better for you?
My sister is an orthopedic surgeon and said the same thing to me and didn't believe me when I said it was all done under locals. She has changed her mind. This is more like a dental procedure with Valium. The way I understand it is there is No need to intubate because there is no systemic anesthesia
All surgeons who only do operations under general will tell you that because they don't do them under local. I think if a person wants general they should do that, but oral sedation with local is perfectly safe in this setting as long as no health conditions prevent the use of valium.
Would you mind if I asked your age please?
Oops I should have started with that. I am 56
Hello Artist, you look beautiful! Congratulations. I also work in a very busy environment and would not be able to take more than 10 days or so. Did anybody notice that you had done something? For me, at work, this would be very disruptive.
Ha. I mean the doctor is an artist. What I like about the procedure is that one doesn't look "worked" on. Not disruptive. My inner ears were painful and I am surprised this isn't discussed more. I used an over the counter decongestant with steroid and it helped me fly home on day 7.
You look great.Keep posting pictures and let everyone know your outcome. I am a month out from doing the same procedure with Dr Harley.
Thx. What post did you read that concerned you?
could you give me more tips on planning trip from California
