Almost 3 weeks!
Progressing along. Still tight and swollen under my chin and the sides of my face. My lip lift scar is also better, but I def need makeup on my lip lift scar to go out. I am truly thrilled with the results. Sometimes can’t believe the surgery is over! Here are some recent pics.

You look absolutely beautiful. I am seriously considering adding a lip lift when I go back for my eyes in about 3 weeks. I wanted to ask you if you used Arnica Montana or Bromelin? Also - do you normally bruise a lot?
Thank you for your kind words. And yes to all the above - I did Arnica, bromelin, quercitin, blueberries, stopped all vitamins, no almonds no fish oils, , etc etc. Didn't make a difference for me. I am a big bruiser. My dog paws my arm - and it takes 2 weeks for the bruise to go away. Just one of those things!

Thank you, Sheila. I had pain for a couple days. Just a few pain pills needed. It's the tightness and swelling that's the most challenging to deal with. And the fact that your ears feel like foreign objects glued to the side of your head. The price for feeling and looking younger!
You look fantastic! I think your lips look wonderful, very natural. I love the light lip gloss on you. Lao makes you look younger. You look in your 40's.

Hi everyone -
I am still in recovery mode! Improvements seem slower now. My ears are still sore, numbness in front of my ears and under my chin. I expected all of that. My lip lift has one tiny scab still that hasn’t healed so I am wearing the tape most of the time. Today I put a little makeup over it just to see and it covered the scar completely- invisible! The scar is already very faint. My nostrils are pulled down a bit, but I imagine this will ease up. I’m still numb under my nose, also. Now is the waiting game for complete recovery. I am truly thrilled with my results. Can’t believe the worst is over. So grateful for Dr Harley and his talent.

I posted earlier about how fab you look. Can I ask when did you travel back home? The same day as the stitches were removed?
Hi Katie - Thank you for your kind words. We were there 9 nights total -and left the Day stitches were removed. You lose one whole day flying from LA to Asheville. Our consult with Dr Harley was the next day, and we had RX scripts filled and bought groceries. Surgery was the following day. One week later, Our stitches were taken out at 10 am, and our flight left at 3 pm. It was very easy. Asheville airport is tiny! I found out that the doubletree has a mission hospital rate of $118 per night. Maybe that will be helpful. We stayed in a suite so had a mini kitchen and mini living room. Also, thought the room service option would be helpful, but the food was too salty. Ended up using uber eats. Happy to answer any other questions.
Do you do consults with any So Cal drs? I'm in north San Diego County and I've done extensive online research for drs who do mini lifts with local anesthesia and they are limited. The ones I have found don't have a lot of pictures or the don't specialize in the face. I love Dr Harley but I'm thinking I should get some local opinions (between San Diego and Los Angeles there are so many drs).
Check out Dr Timothy Miller In Aliso Viejo. He specializes in faces only. He’s conservative and very personable. I had a facelift, neck lift and upper and lower eyes done. Very happy with the results, though I haven’t posted details on this site yet. He will do as much as you are comfortable with and you don’t have to go under general anesthesia.. though I did since I was having “more” done. Good luck!
Hi Katie, I did consider other doctors, but didn't have face to face with them. I looked at Dr Brian Machida In Ontario (but not enough pictures for me) and I spoke with Dr Alicia Sigler In Tijuana. She has quite a few pics (not all face) and seemed very credentialed. I liked her very much. I reached out to someone here in LA who was a former patient of hers who had referred her to many friends. She was extremely happy with her and had used her numerous times for face lift and lip lift. Dr Sigler uses general anesthesia.

You look 20 years younger! What is the time frame from the phone consult to the face to face consult?
It took us about 2 weeks for the phone consult. We had emailed pics of ourselves previously. I called Juanita the next morning after my phone call and booked our appointments 6 weeks from then. It seemed to all happen very fast. The timing was right for us. There was one slot for each of us on separate days. Then we ended up being able to have the surgery on the same day. I think 10-12 weeks post phone call would have had more flexibility.

Do you pay when you book the surgery over the phone or when you have the face to face consult?
There was a $1000 deposit due when i booked our date. The rest was due on the day of surgery.
