Three weeks

WORTH IT$7,500
I just added a photo at 3 weeks- things are coming along well. The incision behind one ear has been slow to heal, so Dr Harley prescribed another batch of antibiotics and with some warm moist compresses it’s finally looking better. I do have some weird discomfort under my chin - I would describe it as a feeling like I scratching from the INSIDE . I wonder if I turned my neck too far too soon so I am trying to take it easy. Every time I question how something looks, I go back to my “ before” pictures and remind myself of the transformation that has taken place!

Thanks so much for all the details you shared! I am 66 and scheduled for July 22. I will be flying in from Arizona by myself and your information was invaluable! You are looking so gorgeous and I am getting more excited by the day!
Hey Sue... I'm scheduled to have surgery with Dr Harley in a month... I was wondering about your experience and how you are healing and if you are happy with your results?
Thank you so much for your detailed account of your procedure and journey. You look fabulous and have an infectious smile.
Looking like a Harley Hottie!!!! Congrats.
I think the scratchy feeling is the nerve endings "waking up". I have that too sometimes. Use it lot of moisturiser and massage it. It usually does the trick for me.
BTW, you look really good!!
You look so young and fresh now! ❤️

2 weeks today

Hello all- it’s 2 weeks today since my lift . Healing was a bit slow on one side and I had to get some more antibiotics. Swelling goes up and down- quite a Bit under my chin- but generally I am so pleased!

You are looking very lovely! Sounds like normal swelling. Mine went up and down like that for the first 3-4 months. Got less and less in that time.
Thanks I appreciate hearing about the experiences of others- I guess I am expecting things to resolve too quickly
u look WONDERFUL! swelling is normal even at 2 weeks. enjoy!
Thank you! It’s good of you to check in on me!
You look beautiful! You will need to serve your hubby some “crow” in FL, since he didn’t think it was a good idea! I also used Dr. Harley 4 years ago and have been a more confident soul ever since, so good for you. I am soon to be 66 years and plan to go back again to Dr. Harley, if I ever feel the need. Good luck, enjoy the new you!
Thanks high ridge, you are right about feeling more confident- I m looking forward to “getting out there again” - rejoining the human race! I am so glad you had such positive feelings about your lift. Can I ask how long ago you had it?
4 years ago, once I had retired and looked at how all those years of hard work and stress had affected me, I had a mini-lift with Dr. Harley. By narrowing his specialty, he has become a absolute genius in his Biltmore lift!
He has really become a master- and yet remained so kind and humble. Glad to hear you are still happy with your results four years later.
You look beautiful!!! So happy you are healing well!
Thanks dharper- our are too kind!
yes roast crow under glass!
Haha- love your sense of humour!

Stitches out

It was a week ago today since I had my lift and this morning I headed back to the clinic to have my stitches removed. My neck and throat look awesome. The incisions on the left side of my face and behind my ear are slower healing, and although I took my antibiotics as prescribed and followed all the suggested precautions they are angry red. Dr Harley says while I do not currently have an infection , I need to clean the incisions on that side with peroxide daily and keep an eye on them in case they do become infected in which case I would need more antibiotics.
Tomorrow morning I will be flying back to Florida and then in a couple more weeks my husband and I will start the long drive home to Canada. This has been a terrific experience- although this slow healing thing is stressful. I am satisfied beyond my wildest dreams with my results- even with my ugly old scar from childhood Dr Harley somehow managed to perform a miracle!
Dr Harley is a very skilled surgeon and such a kind, warm person. If I decide to do any other cosmetic work, I would never even consider anyone else.
I will continue to update on my healing and follow the stories of others on this site, as I now understand how important that support from other members of the RS community can be.

I will be curious to see how the scars heal as he does not seem to hide them as well behind hair line as others. You still look so much better with the lovely side view. he does remarkable profiles!!! best of luck, barbydoll
As I’ve followed the surgery journey of many women who have been to Dr. Harley.....the noticeable scars in front of the ears has always seem curious to me also. I have a short pixie haircut right now, and know my hair will not grow enough between now and the middle of May to cover them.
I did think the incisions seem further in front of the ears than I expected but luckily my hair can cover them.
I am also 2 weeks out from a Biltmore lift and the scars in front of my ears are completely invisible altho I am still puffy. The one under my chin is palpable and faintly visible. The ones behind my earlobes are still visible but healing quickly
It’s so interesting to hear from someone who is at the same stage post- surgery as me! It sounds like you are ahead of me in the healing process. I hope I catch up soon!
my scars were way back in hairline and inside the ear. never quite understood why his are not. I see most heal well so it is ok if u do not have short hair. can't even find my scars 2 years later. I think using the right product on scars can improve long term healing. research the right creams for this as there are many. He does great profile/necks! enjoy!
Yes he encourages keeping he tape on for s long as 6 weeks to reduce scarring too- will see how it goes!
My sister had a face lift in Cali & her incisions are in front, but I can't see them. She's very fair tho & my fear is with my somewhat olive complexion they'd show.
I hope mine heal like hers did!
I'm sure they will!
Hey Tiger. Hope your flight was good and you are still healing well. I haven’t written but I have been keeping up with you. What did your hubby think when he saw you? Does he love your new look? Could you post some new pics?
Hi ginbol, my husband is impressed- . He is. never one to be overly complimentary, so I will interpret. “ your neck looks better” as praise! I will post more pics later this week as we are meeting friends for lunch and I need to do my hair and makeup
I’m so glad your so pleased. Keep us posted.
That sounds very good. Enjoy your lunch! Thank you
