I Made the Worst Decision Trusting Dr.Elluru

$6,500
One year after lower blepharoplasty I have ongoing functional problems, permanent changes, and unresolved concerns!

I waited a full year before posting this review because I wanted to give my eyes every opportunity to heal and because I repeatedly tried to resolve my concerns privately with Dr. Elluru’s office.
I underwent lower blepharoplasty with Dr. Elluru on October 17, 2025. Before surgery, my concern was relatively minor. I had some under-eye hollowing and very little puffiness, particularly beneath my right eye. My eyes were otherwise healthy, functional, and one of the features I valued most about my appearance. I was getting prp injection by his wife Christy the RN in his office. She suggested a lower blepheoplasty consultation with her husband Dr. Elluru. He explained that a lower blepheoplasty would be a good solution to my problem vs. wasting money on other procedures that may not work. I stressed that I love my eyes and the #1 thing I didn't want was scars. He showed me a book of his work and no scars were visible on anyone in the book. I asked him where were the incisions and his response was "Exactly" indicating that the incisions would not be visible. So i agreed to get the surgery.

Within hours after surgery, I knew something was wrong. I contacted the office in writing and sent photographs wanting answers because my lower eyelids appeared to be pulling downward, my eyes looked noticeably different from one another like two different surgeons worked on my eyes, and the worst thing of all two large incisions stretching outwardly from the corners of my eyes. My left eye that hardly had anything wrong with it (just slight hollowing) now had a very big incision and stitches from under my eyelid causing it to droop downward and the stitches went out like a wing and this was immediately interfering with my vision. I cried and cried because I knew that these stitches and large incisions would cause noticeable scaring. But Dr.Elluru insisted that they would heal and not be noticable. Over the following months, I continued experiencing and reporting altered eyelid shape, excessive tearing throughout the day, burning, severe dryness, incomplete closure, irritation, deep scarring, worst hollowing, and visual interference. My eyes starting causing me a lot of problems. I couldn't keep soap out when washing my face or hair. I started having sensitivity to light. I needed help driving starting missing work.

I was repeatedly reassured that things would improve with healing and time. I am now one year post-operative, and they have not.

I eventually sought independent medical evaluations. Oculoplastic surgeon Dr. Tiffany Kent she documented lower-eyelid retraction, tissue loss, inferior scleral show, and changes involving my left lateral canthus following the prior surgery. As soon as she seen me she said looks like the doctor took too much skin off.

Reconstructive procedures were discussed to restore support to the lower eyelids, with estimates totaling more than $10,000. I also require ongoing treatment for chronic dryness and exposure symptoms.

When I provided this information to Dr. Elluru he suggested in writing that my use of a home radiofrequency device was “more than likely” responsible for the retraction. The timeline is important. I was documenting the downward change in my lower eyelid within hours of surgery in October 2025. I did not even purchase the RF device until April 23, 2026, approximately six months later. I purchased it in an attempt to improve the visible deep scars at the outer sides of my eyes, not to tighten the skin underneath my lower eyelids that already clearly had too much skin removed.

I also have serious unresolved concerns regarding my medical records. I requested my medical records and I noticed a blepharoplasty consent form included in the records mailed to me which I never seen before and it contains a signature that I know is not mine and clearly differs from all other signatures I signed on the other consent forms. I had never seen that document before receiving my records, I did not sign or initial it, and the spaces for patient initials throughout the document are blank. Other consent documents from the same surgical episode contain my actual signature and initials. I have preserved all of these documents and am seeking formal review of that issue. This blepheoplasty consent form conveniently list all of the complications I have been reporting to him. And his response also referred to this consent form as something he went over with me warning me of possible complications which absolutely did not happen!

I also repeatedly requested the original clinical before-and-after photographs taken by the practice. The original/native clinical photographs I requested were not included in the medical chart that was eventually sent to me. I raised concerns in writing about the versions that had previously been provided and requested the originals. After he took my after photo he wouldn't show it to me and made me wait a week to get it. Once I received it it had an AI indicator on the bottom and looked altered, the lighting and clarity was clearly different from the before photo. I requested the originals but they wouldn't give it to me. They didn't provide it in my medical records either.

I attempted to resolve this privately. Dr. Elluru offered a partial refund in exchange for a release and restrictions regarding public discussion, but no specific refund amount or agreement was ever provided. I later requested reimbursement of the full $6,401.50 I paid so that it could be applied toward the reconstructive treatment I now need. My last written attempt to resolve the matter received no response.

I am sharing my experience now because I believe patients considering cosmetic eyelid surgery should know what my outcome has been. This has not simply been disappointment with a cosmetic result. I have lived for a year with persistent functional symptoms, altered eyelid anatomy, visible scarring and hollowing, and a change in the appearance of my eyes that has affected me profoundly.

I have photographs, dated emails, medical records, purchase receipts, independent medical findings, and other documentation supporting the timeline described in this review.
