Eyelid surgery, upper and lower. Worth it!

In sum, about 2 weeks recovery to feel up to normal and have my vision clear. Definitely worth it.

WORTH IT
I had heard a week to 10 days recovery. I definitely took longer. At least 2 weeks to be back to regular days, though it may have been a bit longer before my vision was completely clear. I was surprise at how much the swelling affected that. My near sight was blurry for a couple of weeks. I hadn't read too much about that, so I wasn't fully prepared. I do a lot of reading and computer work, so that was affected. But there was NO pain (except from the stitch sticking me in the eyelid), some itching, blurry vision, and oy the swelling. But overall, well worth it.

It's not unusual to have a painful stitch! Don't suffer in silence.

With the steroids and time, the swelling started to go down, but now a stitch was poking me painfully inside my eyelid. I texted a photo to Dr. Richards and he gave me options. I went in to the office and got it trimmed. Sweet relief. I was told this is not unusual and it was taken care of quickly on a walk-in basis. The other end stitches looked like the knot was healing under my skin. With the swelling still there, it was not comfortable (though not really painful like the stitch sticking me in the inside eyelid). I was concerned but told it was fine. (Turned out that it was.)

48-36 hours after...the swelling takes over

Waking up after the second night, the swelling had set in. I did sleep elevated, but the swelling was still significant. I often swell much more than I bruise from trauma, so I wasn't surprised. I kept the cold compresses up. After the third night, I called the office and requested a steroid pack. I got the pack (again, my "normal"). Dr. Richards and his office were very compassionate and understanding.
