Pleased with my Results
I was very nervous to have this procedure but I felt comfortable with having Dr Lee do it because I know he does these so frequently and that it's very routine for him. The day of the procedure you sign your consents and have a few minutes to discuss any concerns with the Dr. I was too scared to actually be able to think of any questions, so you might want to plan ahead if you have questions to ask. They gave me a dose of oral clonidine (to prevent bleeding) and a dose of oral ativan (for anxiety relief and comfort) . Then I waited for maybe 30 minutes or so, again I couldn't tell how long because I was feeling very nervous. They took me into the procedure room and I laid down and they showed me how to use the pronox gas for anxiety relief. They draped my head and then Dr Lee numbed my eyes with numbing drops followed by more numbing by needle but it wasn't very painful. There was a second of feeling a small pinch but it was never overtly painful. During the procedure I couldn't really see what was going on which was a relief. I could occasionally hear the sounds of things being zapped and you can feel the pressure of things being pulled. I felt a bit anxious, but I just took deep breaths of the pronox gas and this helped. During the course of the procedure I would say I never felt more than 3/10 pain. The swelling was the worst around day 3 post op. I felt like moving my eyes to look at things felt a bit sore. My eyes in general just felt very tender but again, nothing so overtly painful that a little tylenol and ice pack couldn't help.I have continued to have some mild swelling and bruising. I'm currently day 12 post op. I can appreciate a small amount of swelling and a very faint fading bruise, but I would say most people can't really see it. I'm very pleased with the results. I can't wait to see how it will look when the swelling has completely resolved. My eyes looks much more rested. I don't look fatigued because of the bags anymore because they're gone! If this is something you've been considering, I can tell you that I'm very happy with my decision to have this procedure done and I would consider having an upper bleph with Dr Lee as well since this experience went so well. First post op visit was very quick check in just to make sure everything was ok and address any issues. The only question I ever had was on day 3 and they give you Dr Lee's phone number and he addressed all my questions very quickly. I have another follow up 1 month post op. The results can only get better as the swelling goes down. I would do it again for sure.
