Results Exceeded my Expectations!

WORTH IT
Pictures following surgery with tape covering outer incisions. Swelling was still moderate and some bruising and redness still visible. My outer incisions were raised and sutured. When the sutures came out they began to flatten pretty quickly and were able to be covered with makeup at 1 month.

Results Exceeded my Expectations!

For literally years I put off addressing my heavy undereye bags and dark circles because I was very concerned about any procedures which would involve my face. Instead I wasted time and money on every cream and concealer I could find until, finally, after turning 40 I realized I could no longer cover the bags with makeup and was tired of looking tired and decided to see Dr. Lee. At my consultation he was very honest with me and my biggest concern was the visible scars. I’m an ICU RN so I did tons of research after I left my consultation and after researching his skin tightening technique in the current literature, I came to the conclusion that his technique was the best option for me to avoid any complications resulting from lower eyelid retraction.
With butterflies in my belly I made my appointment.
The procedure itself was only mildly uncomfortable with short periods of pain during fat pad removal, I slept through most of it. The in-office procedure without general anesthesia was appealing to me as I did not want either the risks or recovery time required in the use of general anesthesia. Dr. Lee was reassuring the entire time and I was confident in the sterility and safety of his in-office procedure room.
I can honestly say my results EXCEEDED my expectations. I was able to easily cover the incision scars with makeup after one month and the procedure took years off my appearance. At 3 months post procedure, the scars are almost totally gone. DO NOT HESITATE to trust Dr. Lee, he is a perfectionist, an artist and a true professional. He was available through personal text for any concerns for months after surgery. I do not write many reviews and hesitate to share my opinion regarding doctors but I made an exception because Dr. Lee is a rare find and has earned his stellar reputation.

Thank you for sharing your review with the RealSelf community!

You look incredible, the difference is significant and it takes years off of you. You look bright, youthful and filled with energy. Congratulations on taking this step after having wanted to do it for so long.
You look wonderful. I'm curious how did he lessen the dark circles? I assume fat pad removal was for the bags. Your results look great!
The procedure won’t remove dark circles per say but by removing the fat pads and extra skin it eliminates the shading that gives the appearance of extra dark circles. I still wear a concealer for the pigmentation.
Hi, Could you let me know how much you paid for this surgery? You look amazing!
It is reassuring that you are happy with your results. I too want to get rid of my extra skin under my eyes but I’m also scared.
What was the tightening portion of the procedure? Was it a laser?
The tightening portion required 2 incisions near the outer corner of the eye going down approx 1/8 inch. Thins was the part I was scared about because they are visible for about a month. The skin is then tightened and excess is removed. I used the creams and antibiotic ointment provided along with silicone tape to fade and flatten the incisions. Dr. Lee has been having me come into the office to follow up and check on them every three weeks. Like I said he is a perfectionist and is always working towards aiding the healing process.
You look amazing ! I had my lower eyes done and need a revision - but I’m nervous about doing another procedure due to lower lid retraction. Did you have transcutaneous or transconjunctival procedure ? Where is Dr Lee located? Thanks!
Transconjunctival for the fat pad removal and then transcutaneous incision for the excess skin removal/tightening. The difference is, many surgeons opt to make an incision along the lower lash line but my incision was made from the outer corner of my eye down. While this can leave visible scars (which can be covered with makeup) and a more obvious incision during the healing process, the risk for lower lid retraction is avoided. I personally preferred the visible outer scars over the risk of retraction.
