My name is Nikki Nik . phone number ends with 6136 . Just in the case if someone from Dr office reviewing my comment and declares that I am not the patient, I think my 4 digit of phone number and my name make it clear enough who I am …

It was an awful experience for me to go through eyelid surgery with Dr Thomassen a while ago .

First , The nurse / or office manger Miss Alicia asked me to not take any medication that Dr had prescribed for me before the surgery including Diazepam ( as attached ) and just before going to operation room , Doctor Thomassen asked me if I took Diazepam and I said no per Alicia’s email .

It was such a painful experience that I don’t advise anyone to burn money and time to do this surgery under his care!

After operation my eyes were so irritated for weeks . The scar on my eyelid did not go away months after operation . Doctor mentioned it might be red birth mark which now showing up after lifting up the skin which is not true . All my photos from childhood to now indicate that there were no birth mark there and as you can see from below photo it is clear that this is the side effect of eyelid surgery not anything else . I paid a lot of money for absolutely nothing and I am not going to tolerate another painful experience to revise scare . Is there any guarantee that I don’t need third surgery with Dr Thomassen then ??! I need my eyes to sit infront of my laptop and work everyday for 10 hours as an engineer. How many days I have to be in pain and discomfort for the second revision operation now ?

For cosmetic aspect , I don’t see any significant changes in my eyelid to worth this permanent scar

Please see attached photo and tell me what you think . Thanks Dr to make me look like Al Pacino in Scarface.

One more thing to mention . Yesterday his staff miss Michelle called me and advised me to wait for a year??? and hopefully it heals . But during consultant season before the surgey miss Alicia had told me the bruises go away in couple weeks but now to get rid of me and my concerns they are advising to be patient and wait for a year ?! Or go through revision operation with him . Oh . No Thank you . So upset and blame myself everyday looking in the mirror why I did this to myself ?

I am going to contact medical board and also talk to attorney if I don’t heard back from Dr Thomassen next Monday 5/13/2024 . When it comes to collect money , everyone respond fast but when it comes to this malpractice no one is available and I feel lost and ignored now .

Response from Dr. Thomassen:
Dear Mrs Niknam: I agree that scar is not acceptable. Likely after your sutures were removed, the incision slightly opened. This can happen if slight tension is placed on the eye possibly from rubbing shortly after. This is rare but it can happen. Your other side healed perfectly. I offered you to revise this scar in the office. If we had done this revision, this issue would be completely over by now. However you refuse to treat the issue and naturally it will take some time for the scar to mature and be acceptable. With regard to the preop medication, Alicia asked you not to take it until you saw me in the office. Once I took your vital signs that day and everything was deemed adequate, you were asked to take the medication. We then waited 10-15 minutes to do the procedure. Nothing in your care deviated from our standard procedure and other than feeling a small pinch from a needle you were comfortable throughout. With regard to your results, I would be happy to post the before and afters if I get your permission. Honestly, in looking at the results, your scar will likely not need revision as it will remodel and be acceptable in due course. Nonetheless, I would be happy to revise this scar if you like. It should only take 10 minutes in the office and you should be healed in 7-10 days.

True . Florida is paradise for doctors because don’t accept cosmetic cases as the doctors usually don’t have insurance to cover their malpractice results . He knows what he did to my right eyelid he took the stitches too early and that’s what happened. He admitted that this is the consequences of removing stitches early in his office in front of my husband and of course I can not prove it . I believe in Karma and I hope one day he took responsibility for his mistake …

That car is very very tiny. It can be covered with some make up and it probably will fade away. Everybody skin his differently.
