How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.
If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

Lack of Integrity
Dr. Taban's response to my review proves his lack of integrity. Of course he knows who I am. Also, it's impossible to have proper follow-ups when your doctor is dismissive. Stay away from dishonest and dismissive surgeons.

Horrible Outcome
I will regret choosing Dr. Taban for the rest of my life.
It has been 22 months since Dr. Taban performed on me bilateral upper and lower blepharoplasty. After the surgery, my eyes do not close completely, my blinks are incomplete, my lower eyelids retracted. I was diagnosed with meibomian gland dysfunction and tear deficiency. As a result, I’ve been experiencing severe dry eyes. I have never had eye dryness before the surgery. When I contacted Dr. Taban 5 months after the surgery, he brushed me off with a 3-sentence reply to my email, did not offer additional consultation and told me that usually the upper eyelids loosen and close by the one-year mark. I expressed my concern again on the 6- and 9-month post-surgery online consultations without any success. So I waited and lubricated the eyes instead of taking more serious steps immediately. My eyes did not improve, the dryness got worse, so I contacted him again after 15 months and he was so “generous” to offer in-person consultation four months later! During the consultation, Dr. Taban looked confused and suggested shortening my eyes by pinching the corners! (which I denied) and going to an ophthalmologist for punctal plugs. He did not examine the eye surface but concluded my eyes were not severely dry because they were not red!
Since this surgery, my life has turned upside down. I cannot explain the emotional and financial toll on me and my family. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars for consultations and treatments and I am still dealing with severe dry eyes and infections associated with this condition. I have to tape my eyelids shut during sleep.
I’d like to add that all consultations, including the pre-op lasted around 15 minutes. That should have been a red flag. The first consultation was via Skype. He did not examine my eyes for possible undetected dryness before the surgery.
I do not recommend Dr. Taban.
