Under the eye area looks great but shape of my eyes was not preserved

ORIGINAL POST

Lower Blepharoplasty

I had a lower blepharoplasty. I will start with the pros. The doctor is very personable and kind. The staff is nice. The area under the eye looks natural, looks great. I did not like the amount of time it took to heal. If you're lucky it might be 6 weeks and you can look healed on the outside. But I think 3 months on average for most.
It took me about 3 months before I felt comfortable enough to socialize again. Also, during this period, injections are given under the eye at follow up appointments to prevent retraction, this causes bruising. You cannot hide it, not even with makeup. This is something you need to consider, if you work or have social events to attend. I wouldn't plan anything for at least 3 months. Even past the one year mark I still "feel" my eyes. The shape of my eyes was not preserved.
I did not realize this would happen. I always liked my eyes and so this is upsetting. It is a subtle change but a change nevertheless and my eye shape is not quite as attractive as they were before the procedure in my opinion. I am also left with small scars . So let me explain, there are stitches under the bottom lash that are removed after 10 days. But there are also stitches that come out from the sides of the eyes that are dissolvable. There are also two single stitches in the top of both cheeks. The stitches on the cheeks dissolve fairly quickly within 10-14 they are barely noticeable during that time. But the stitches on the outer corners take longer to disappear. One side dissolved quickly, probably a couple weeks, the other side took months. That is the side that left the most obvious scar. I was never told about the stitches in the cheeks or that I would have dissolvable stitches that would come out from the sides of both eyes. I did not ask enough questions during my consultation, my mistake. I did however ask if there would be any scars and was told no. Clearly, I have them. The scars are hypopigmented and flat, and my friend said unless I point them out they are not that noticeable. I did have CO2 laser on them and it improved slightly. Not what I signed up for tho. The doctor should explain everything to you so there are no surprises. Even if you don't ask the right quesitons. If you like the shape of your eyes I recommend to do a transconjunctival blep. There are no stitches on the outside so there is no risk of scarring. Only get incision under the eye if absolutely necessary. I went to him because he only does eyes. I am disappointed at these two aspects of the procedure that caused changes that I do not like. There are doctors who can reposition the fat under the eye without an incision on the outside and can achieve a cheek lift with a fat transfer. I have seen amazing results and a fraction of time to heal. There is dr I found after the fact that does it this way. Two weeks and you look normal. I wish I had done more research.

Hi, Sorry you are not happy with your results. Can you tell me the other doctors you are referring to?

Check out Dr Kami Parsa.
Thank you. I checked, and he seems good; unfortunately I do not have the means to fly out to Beverly Hills for surgery!
Did you see his video on youtube? Guaranteed to get the results you want.
This Dr ruined that shape of my eyes. I regret it every day and now I have to live with it.
I am so sorry. I wish there was a remedy or recourse for you.
Unfortunately there is nothing to make it better. I can't go back in time...I wish. I don't even look in the mirror any more.
You are better off travelling outside of your state than settling for subpar results nearer to your home. Trust me. I so regret going to this doctor.
I am so sorry about your ordeal with the healing process. I was about to do the same surgery. Since I only have 2 months of downtime. No way will I do that while working and be seen by middle school youth
