Lifesaver, a Revision Specialist, Don't Give Up Hope!
I had previously received primary cosmetic surgery on my lower eyelids a few months ago from a different highly regarded Beverly Hills oculoplastic surgeon to address slight scleral show and under eye hollowness. A canthoplasty, lower lid retraction were performed and a silicone implant was placed. Unfortunately, I was very unhappy with the result as it was completely different from what I had requested, dramatically changed my face and made me look extremely unnatural.
My face looked constantly swollen even after months and my eyes were slanted like a cat's. After months of letting the change settle in, I was devastated. In fact it seemed my dark circles, one of the main reasons I got surgery in the first place were even worse than before. My first surgeon recognized there was indeed an issue, but mainly was concerned with the angle of one eyelid, rather than correctly assessing the problem in its entirety.
As I felt my concerns were unheard, and I began to doubt my initial surgeon's aesthetic judgements, I sought out a another experienced oculoplastic surgeon in the area and underwent a revision a few months after. However, little difference, if any, was made by this 2nd surgeon, who insisted it was a success. Only when pressed and presented with before and after photos did this surgeon acknowledge the extent the problem.
I soon found myself in a peculiar position, having already undergone 2 surgeries in a 5 month span with two separate surgeons who were unable to offer me any solutions. I knew I had to be extremely careful when choosing a doctor to undergo surgery #3, and decided to seek out Dr. Massry for a consult.
Immediately, Dr. Massry understood and agreed with my concerns and dedicated himself to providing me with a solution. Based on my consult and the preliminary plan Dr. Massry proposed, I knew I would be in great hands. Over the weeks prior to surgery, Dr. Massry and his fellow Dr. Wang were in constant contact with me, forming a collaborative plan to address a unique revision.
Dr. Massry warned me about the unpredictabilities of surgery, and how he could offer no guarantees, but that he would do his best. During surgery, Dr. Massry employed specialized techniques that allowed him to reposition the lids in a more natural placement, removed the implant, and addressed the under-eye hollowing. Having been burned twice before already, I was quite nervous about how the outcome would turn out, unsure if my issue could ever be fixed.
I am currently 2 weeks post-op but I can say that Dr. Massry went above and beyond what was expected. I am extremely happy with my results, even with swelling still in place. I feel like my old self again, prior to surgery, and my eyes look like they never even went through the trauma of the past few months.
I'm excited to see how many eyes continue to heal and have complete faith in Dr. Massry as a surgeon, he truly is a miracle worker who cares about his patients. Dr. Wang is also very talented and together they make a great team. Anna, Veronika and the rest of the office staff are extremely organized, courteous and provide first class service.
I could only wish I had found Dr. Massry earlier in this process. If you're experiencing a unique issue and want a bespoke treatment plan for a natural result, Dr. Massry should be your first stop.
