Horrific Experience

I have been to many doctors in my life including top cosmetic dermatologists and surgeons, in both New York and Miami, yet I’ve never had the experience that I had with this practice. I have never been treated in such an incredibly rude, unprofessional, unjust, unfair, and plain wrong manner. I felt discriminated against. The fact that Dr.Lewen did not even bother to speak to me to get my side of the story is absolutely astonishing and extremely one-sided. He decided to just totally brush me off based on his front desk personnel and manager’s distorted and biased description of what happened. This has cost me a lot of time, energy, and money loss. I did not deserve this at all. I originally had a 3pm appointment on Monday, February 24th. On Monday, I called first thing in the morning to try to get an earlier appointment since I have 2 kids (a baby and a 7 year old) and it would be very hard for me to get back home late and not pick up my older son on time. I’m currently a full-time stay-at-home mom without any help, so for doctors visits I have to really pre-plan and get a babysitter for the day (which I don’t do often and also don’t prefer). I changed the time for my babysitter to arrive earlier, but she was running a bit late, so I ended up leaving my house at 12:20pm (I live about 35-40m from Aventura). Unfortunately there was an accident on the highway and I got held up. At 1:10, I called the office out of courtesy and told Dominique that I’d be a few minutes late and about 10 minutes away. I explained the entire situation, but Dominique’s response was: “I can reschedule your appointment, we won’t be able to see you” I was appalled, so I asked for the manager. Brooke seemed understanding to my situation and told me to come in to start the paperwork. I came into the office at 1:20, the paperwork was filled out by 1:35, I was ready. Unfortunately they didn’t want to take me, so they took the 2pm appointment. I was told that if the 3pm is late I’ll get a call and in the meantime I left to go do errands. I returned at 3:20 and the 3pm had just walked in ahead of me as I came out of the restroom. I asked the front desk why didn’t they call me and they said they didn’t see a need. I was very upset, my 1pm appointment became 4pm, mind you my older son needed to be picked up from school. I said I’d wait but it was definitely unfair to me to not be seen for my appointment, yet this patient was exactly 20 minutes late like me, yet she was seen without any hassle. I then went out for a walk, came back at 4pm and was told that I won’t be seen at all and that I will get a refund for the consultation. I asked why and why wasn’t I told this at 3:15? I wasted another 45 minutes for absolutely no reason. I was told by Brooke that she changed her mind based on Dominique’s false and convoluted story that she made up about me “stalking” patients. Just hearing this is embarrassing and only a troubled person can make up something this absurd. I wasted my entire day, wasted money, was treated very unfairly, was lied to and emotionally distressed for absolutely no reason.
