My experience with Mr. Russell Bramhall was exceptional from start to finish. Besides being an incredibly gifted surgeon, Russell is also a lovely human being who I quickly established an easy rapport with, and put me completely at ease.
I have naturally hooded eyes, and my lids became heavier as I aged. They impaired my vision, and I was experiencing neck pain due to holding my head at an awkward angle to counteract that.
I had a number of consultations before my procedure where Russell answered all my questions and did such a great job managing my expectations that the surgical result has left me somewhat speechless every time I look in the mirror.
The procedure was painless, and I was not at all anxious. There was a relaxed, chatty atmosphere in theatre, and in most of the photos taken during the procedure, I'm either laughing or have a smile on my face.
My results have far exceeded my expectations; my vision is now clear from obstruction, and my neck pain has resolved. I can now insert and wear contact lenses comfortably for the first time.
Besides the blephroplasty procedure Russell also removed some shrapnel from an old wound from above my right eye. What little scarring there is, is hidden by my eyebrow and the scarring on my eyelids is all but invisible, hidden beautifully in the crease of my lids.
My recovery was painless besides some minor discomfort due to swelling. I didn't so much as need paracetamol. Aftercare couldn't have been easier: antibiotic ointment for a few days and ice packs hourly for swelling. I went out for lunch day 6 post-op and didn't feel at all self-conscious. The residual bruising was easily hidden under a little concealer.
If you are unhappy with your eyelids and considering undergoing blephroplasty, I strongly urge you to have the procedure performed by Russell. My horrible hooded lids are gone, and all I'm left with is immense gratitude!
