Eye Ptosis Repair (Very Happy)

WORTH IT
I had many nicknames for my droopy eyelid, Wonky, lazy, sleepy, Jeff Bezos eye. It used to be cute in photos, like a little winking lid dancing to the beat of it’s own drum. As I’ve aged it completely lost it’s charm! I would find myself squinting my other eye so the two would somehow resemble each other. I researched the procedure for months and researched finding a doctor even longer. I knew 100% I wanted a specialist. I wanted somebody who knew every thing about the eye ball, lid, muscles and everything in between! I cringed at the thought of a Dr. inserting implants and plumping butts all day and then squeezing in a quick droopy eye at the end of the afternoon. Dr. Amadi came highly recommended from somebody in the aesthetic industry, from there I researched him thoroughly and studied his gallery photos multiple times. Once I had my consultation I knew he would be the “chosen one” he was very knowledgeable and honest about the procedure. He doesn’t come across as stuffy or conceited and he has a great bedside manner. He also has a very slight New York accent which makes listening to him enjoyable. The office staff are all very kind and accommodating, the office itself feels like a beautiful cozy little home that gives you a nice little hug upon entering. Dr. Amadi suggested a conservative upper eyelid lift to eliminate the extra skin that would develop from lifting the lid to it’s correct position. I also ended up having both eyes repaired after discovering the right eye was slightly droopy as well. My whole procedure consisted of ptosis repair and blepharoplasty on both eyelids. I felt no pain during the procedure and was actually very relaxed (kept dozing off). My recovery was very easy and I was up and about the next day. I did have bruising and swelling of course but it really was much milder than I had excepted. I had the procedure done in June, upon going back for my 3 month evaluation, Dr. Amadi felt the left eye could be brought up slightly to make the result perfect. I really barely noticed the difference but I trusted his vision and I agreed to a revision. I mean how fabulous is that?? most doctors wouldn’t even mention it and they’d shuffle you out the door! He’s a perfectionist though, thank goodness! The biggest piece of advice I will give is, wear the ugly black ski goggles he gives you!! You will hate them but they make a huge difference! On my initial surgery I wore them right after surgery and didn’t take them off for 24 hours. On the revision I didn’t wear them and it was a huge difference! My eye was very swollen and bruised! I’m including photos of my eye before surgery and the whole healing process, including the revision. I’m only 2 weeks out from the revision and it looks amazing!!! So happy with the surgery and I highly recommended it. Beyond happy with my choice of Dr. Amadi and I highly recommend him as well!!

Thank you for your kind review! Eyelid compression goggles have really improved recovery for my patients. Definitely better than just icing after surgery. Glad you posted that experience.

Curious as to what the cost was, if you don't mind my asking. I'm seriously thinking about having this done for my hooded eyes..
