My Experience Was Excellent!

WORTH IT
I have always wanted to have some facial surgery when I felt the time was right. I also had the terrible shock and devastation of the very sudden and unexpected death of my dear partner last year that really took it's toll on me and then more recently I had a reaction to some medicine that I had used around my eyes which caused some loss of volume. So I started my research on the internet and found Dr Julian De Silva. He had everything I was looking for, great credentials and great reviews and the fact that he specialised in facial and ocular surgery.
So I wasted no time and rang Dr Julian's Practice and liked how I was received on the phone by Marguerite at reception, she was so nice, helpful, courteous, polite, informative and very professional as all the Team are. I booked my consultation.
On arrival at Dr Julian's Practice I was warmly greeted by Sarah, Makez and Marguerite. Sarah took me to Dr Julian's room for my consultation and again I was so warmly greeted by Dr Julian. He made me feel totally relaxed and at ease with his kind, gentle, caring, calm and professional manner.
I told him what had happened last year and what had happened earlier this year. He listened intently and was very understanding, he then explained and described in great detail to me about the surgery and what the multiple procedures would entail for me and what he thought would be achievable for me. We then spoke about how long my surgery would take and how he prefers and likes to use Twilight Sedation rather than General Anesthesia during surgery. I had never heard of Twilight Sedation before and I felt a bit dubious about it at first as I have only ever had General Anesthetics in the past. Dr Julian then explained to me about Twilight Sedation and how it works. He told me how much safer and how much better all round this technique is especially because you breathe for yourself. There is also less risk of nausea and you don't get a sore throat that you tend to with a General Anesthetic and it also takes a lot less time to recover from Twilight Sedation. Once I had heard all this information all my dubiousness totally went away.
From the very first meeting with Dr Julian, I had my complete and utter trust and confidence in him and a great rapport. I think this is so important to have.
The date for my surgery was arranged so I then went back for my pre-op appointment with one of the lovely Nurses there, Luci and I also met with Dr Julian again to see if I had any further questions I would like to ask him. Then a few weeks later the day of my surgery arrived. I met early in the morning with Dr Julian, Dr Andr? who was my Anaesthetist for the surgery, Nurse Josie and Nurse Joanna. Dr Andre went over everything with me regarding the Twilight Sedation and then I had my last conversation with Dr Julian before my surgery. All their care, professionalism and kindness from start to finish was absolutely wonderful and superb and it made me feel so relaxed before and after my surgery.
I certainly made the right decision to have all the procedures done at once and it was absolutely brilliant to have the Twilight Sedation. I didn't feel a thing throughout the operation or wake up during it. I had been asleep for nearly 7 hours, but it seemed more like 7 minutes.
When I woke up I felt no pain, no discomfort, no nausea, no grogginess, no disorientation, no sore throat, no unsteadiness it was absolutely incredible! I highly recommend Twilight Sedation, take it from me it's the best thing ever. I would never want to have a General Anesthetic ever again in my life now that I have experienced Twilight Sedation first hand and the enormous benefits and all the pluses that go with having it. As you can see below I had quite a few procedures. I had no complications or problems at all. I just had the normal standard swelling and bruising which has virtually gone now at 11 weeks post surgery. I had very little pain or discomfort after the surgery. The aftter care was outstanding and I am so thrilled and happy with the result!
These are the procedures I had below.
? Upper Blepharoplasty
? Lower Blepharoplasty
? Fat Transfer
? Canthopexy
? +/- Skin Pinch
