One year on reflections - can’t quite believe the change

When I had my upper eyelids done a year ago, Dr Yannis Alexandrides asked me in the pre-op consultation to tell him, on a scale of 1-10, how much I thought the procedure would change my life. I said 2, which seemed to surprise him. In my late 60’s, I wasn’t doing it to look younger, but to get back my eyes, which were disappearing under drooping folds of skin. Would that change my life? Not really! The admin to set up pre- and post-op consultations was efficient, and 111 accommodated not only the fact that I was abroad for several months beforehand (with an initial video consultation), but also a complete change of date due to having cataract operations. For the first time in sixty years I didn’t need to wear glasses, which seemed to make the eyelid surgery even more desirable. The procedure took less than an hour, I think, and after the anaesthetic was injected I didn’t feel a thing. Everything was explained in detail, both before and during the op, and the post-op care I needed was also made very clear. The nurses were friendly and reassuring, and Dr Alexandrides did an expert job. One year on, and my eyes look very different. People have even said I look younger, though the wrinkles are still there. I was right: it hasn’t changed my life; but now that I’ve got used to my new appearance in the mirror, I love that that my eyes are back! When I look at photos taken since the scars healed, I can’t quite believe the change, and I have a new-found confidence. I would recommend this centre, 111 Harley Street, to anyone thinking of having this done!
