1 Year 4 months after the surgery

Now one year and four months after the surgery I still use eyebrow makeup since the left eyebrow is sparser than the right one. I still have to coat my eyebrows with a lot of waxy products trying to flatten the hairs as some stick out in different directions. I like this shape of my eyebrows, but due to asymmetrical density I am considering a follow-up procedure.

Thanks for sharing your eyebrow journey. I am considering this procedure as well. I am just wondering, did they compare the thickness of the donor hair to your native brow hairs and choose thinner donor hairs when they implanted the hairs to brow area? It seems to me that you naturally have fine/thin hair, but the transplanted hairs in your brow area seem thicker than the hair on your head.

No, unfortunately, the technician was not that meticulous at picking hairs to implant. The only effort that she made was trying not to pick hairs with grey roots, but I still ended up with a few of those. And you are correct - my hair is fine for the most part, but since the donor hairs came from the back closer to the neck where the hair tends to be thicker, my eyebrow hairs turned out to be thicker.

oh no... one of my biggest concern is how they pick the donor hair, I am asian, I have straight thick hair, if they don't pick the thinner hair from back of my head, most likely I would end up with very thick dark brows. I wish they can use leg hairs as donor hairs, they look like brow hairs and grow like brow hairs.

I would discuss this with a doctor during your consultation. They might be able to accommodate where they harvest donor hairs on your head, but I’m pretty sure they won’t use leg hair for the procedure. Good luck!

Your eyebrows look so good! I got mine from Dr. Dauer as well, the best thing ever that's done to myself, I had no eyebrows before, it changed my life!! He's the best!!

Quick question I noticed some people pay $7k or even $8k. Were you able to negotiate price??? He quoted me $10k that’s double than even Bosley

I paid the price he quoted - $8k. His fee might have gone up in the last year.

Im sorry, that's dissapointing. Im almost 3 months postop and barely starting to see some very light growth on my eyebrows. Im hoping they completely fill because i have none. Im still having to fill in everyday as before with eyebrow makeup. Are you considering your second procedure with him or another doctor?

Your eyebrows look very dense and seems like theyre laying flat though!:)
September 27, 2019
No, I learned that if I keep my hairs long enough, I achieve the desired density in my eyebrows. At 3 moths postop my eyebrows were still patchy too. Give them some more time.

How long until you saw volume in hair regrowth?
September 27, 2019
I would say 9-12 months.

Thanks for your review. I had two eyebrow transplantations, but my hairs really stick out so much that people have been asking me what the hell I did with my eyebrows. Do you have any idea how to make them lay on the skin instead of sticking out? Did you have also this problem? It really makes me so conscious about them the whole time, and it affects me psychologically :( Do you have pictures of how it looks now? :) What happened to the hairs from the first procedure? Did you have to take them out, or do the other hairs cover them?

I use this product from Sephora followed by any eye brow gel, the combination of both helps keep most hairs in place: Check out this product at Sephora.com - REFY Brow Sculpt Shape and Hold Gel with Lamination Effect - 0.28 oz/ 8.5 mL https://www.sephora.com/product/refy-beauty-brow-sculpt-P473120?skuId=2466191 The hairs from the first procedure (they are the ones that stick out) are still there. I tried pulling them out but they grow back.

Thank you very much for your answer! When I open the link, I don't see the product, it could be that it is because I am not in the States but in Europe. Maybe you have another link?
So the hairs implanted by Dr. Dauer don't stick out? I know that when I went to the second doctor, he told me that I need to laser them away first, what I tried, but it didn't work, and it was horrible to walk around the whole time without any brows (you need to do the lasering for some months because of the regrowth phases), so I can't recommend this really.

Hi, you should have brow lamination done. It only lasts a month but may help to train the brow hairs.

My eyebrows evened out in density and are now more symmetrical. Today I am leaving the house with no eyebrow make-up on for the first time in my adult life. Now I see that some of the transplanted hairs are grey, therefore I would advise those who are about to do this procedure, explicitly ask not to implant hairs that are already grey. The technician can see the grey roots during the hair separation procedure if you decide to go with the strip method.

Did you have to get a touch-up procedure?
February 4, 2019
I havent yet, but am considering to do it sometime this year. I am not quite happy with the left eyebrow. It's quite sparse compared to the right.
April 7, 2019
Hey! Your entire experience sounds exactly like mine, so I'm relieved to hear that you had additional growth at seven months and at one year. Currently I am just past six months and everyday is a struggle to get these hairs to lay flat. Mine grow quickly; what I lack in density, I make up for in length :( My left brow has thicker hairs and is more full while my right one seems to have way more fine hairs and is less dense. It's like they got things reversed. I'm not really thrilled with my progress or results and I still feel pretty self conscious. I appreciate all your updates and I hope that by some miracle yours even out. Please keep us posted!

Hi there! I completely understand your struggle keeping the hairs flat. I found If I tint my eyebrows with a professional brow color, my hairs get thicker and it’s easier to control them. Also, I use Zeus Mustache wax to coat my eyebrows at night to keep them flat. And then rinse my eyebrows in the morning. Six months is not enough to see the final results, so don’t despair. You eyebrows will probably even out or you find a way of making them look more or less even. Good luck!

By now, my eyebrows are pretty much filled in. Although I am happy with the overall shape, there are a few sparse spots and the eyebrows are asymmetric in density. Dr, Dauer offered me a less invasive touch-up procedure, which I might do to eliminate the need for make-up application every morning.

That's great news! Do you have any close pictures? Can you tell me us about the less invasive procedure? I had a transplant several years ago and have many sparse areas, deciding between Dr. Dauer and Dr. champagne, I live on east coast so saving extra money for the travel. Thanks so much for your review!

Please let us know if you continue to see results. I am curious as to whether you will experience any benefit at 12 months? I am 2 weeks post-op and am dreading the shedding and regrowth phase. Many of mine have fallen out :(
