3 months post-opp

I'm 1 year out now, and the results are even better after 'settling in.' At three months I had a faint amount of swelling, which was completely gone at about 6 months. No one suspected that I had surgery. I've only received comments on how young I look for my age.

I hope the images help you make your decision.

Great Experience and a Highly Recommended Doctor

Dr. Kotlus performed my lower blepharoplasty, and I have been extremely happy with the procedure and the results. I’m a 43 year-old male, and had moderate lower eye bags that I found very bothersome. I was often asked if I was tired, or if I had slept well. Thankfully, that is no longer a problem.

Throughout the process, Dr. Kotlus has been very generous with his time. I never felt rushed during our visits, and when I requested a second consultation before deciding on surgery, he accommodated the appointment and re-explained the entire procedure and post-op care to my partner. He never up-sold me on other procedures, add-ons or products. In fact, when I asked about adding a laser treatment to the procedure he was honest and said I didn’t need it.

The day of surgery I didn’t know what to expect. This was my first cosmetic surgery, and it could not have been easier. The anesthesiologist was great and described in detail his portion of the procedure. Dr. Kotlus then came in to assure me everything would be easy, and it was.

I knew exactly what to do post-op, as everything had been explained in detail. Dr. Kotlus and team also called multiple times to check-in and made sure I was recovering well and not in any pain.

At my 1 week post-op appointment everything looked great. I didn’t really bruise, which is apparently uncommon. A welcome surprise.

I have met with Dr. Kotlus for post-op appointments at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months. At 3 months I had a small amount of Botox to reduce some fine lines, separate to my eye surgery. At 6 months I inquired about some fillers, and again he told me I didn’t need them. His honesty has been very appreciated.

If you are considering eye surgery, I would highly recommend meeting with Dr. Kotlus. I saw three of the top NYC oculoplastic surgeons and I knew right away that I wanted him to perform my surgery. There are a lot of amazing surgeons in New York, and ultimately it comes down to whom you feel most comfortable performing your surgery. I am very happy with my choice.
