Went for checkup yesterday. Turns out my stitches are absorbable. Oops I think I may remember being told that. Bummer I really wanted them out. Soooo waiting for them to all break free and get out. Steri-strips gone yay! Under my lash line is still irritated and puffy. Still swollen on both sides at top of cheekbone. Hope those go down soon. Bruising much better each day. I’m doing warm compresses several times a day. It’s supposed to help move out the discoloration. I know it’s only been just over a week, but I’m ready to get back to living life. I can wear eye makeup 2 days after the last stitch. Ooh notice my last two pics I am wearing eyebrows - yay for a little Make-up lol

Thanks for posting your journey! You are healing so well! I am having the same procedure done this Wednesday so I’ve been following your progress. Quick question- were you put under for this procedure? Or was it done with just local anesthesia while you were awake?

Hi, I was most definitely put under lol. My surgical nurse was telling me that a woman earlier in the day opted for Xanax and local anesthetic. She was a mess, kept sitting up, telling them hold on I need a little break, or hurry and finish i can't do this much longer. Bless her heart. So I was so happy I opted to be asleep! Every day things look a little better, but I really am watching the swelling at the top f my cheeks. I am on day 8 post-op and I am just fearful after all of this time and $$ that there won't be much difference or (heaven forbid) it will be worse. My doc is an ocuplastic surgeon and all of my research pointed me to him and his partner being "the guys" but it's still so hard not having control of the healing. You are going to do great - there is very little actual pain. Never took a single pain med. I have slept in our recliner since surgery LOL I am doing all I can to heal up. Do the ice packs and later warm compresses as they tell you. Keep me posted!! Are you going to do a review/progress pics/posts? This site has helped me so much - I hope you post as well! Good luck! Are you doing local or MAC anesthesia?

What did he do to fill in the depressions/grooves you had running down your cheeks? Did he transposition fat, or inject fat? I'm assuming he did something to fill them in?
April 6, 2019
Hi. He did fat repositioning. He told me that I may still need some filler (lower, bottom of the trough/groove) afterward bc one of my “grooves” runs down my cheek a bit. I keep staring at my progress. I wish I could fast forward another week. I’m trying to trust the process. Praying once the swelling at the top of my cheek subsides, the troughs will look better and better.

If he actually managed to fill those grooves with your under-eye fat alone, that would be nothing short of amazing. But if you still have some grooves left you can probably add filler/fat injections to even it out completely. Looking forward to see your end results. I also have these terrible grooves/depressions.

Still swollen, especially my left eye which was worse to begin with. For a while, my lash line area was pretty swollen and puffy to where I felt like it wasn’t up against my eyeballs properly. It wasn’t awful, but I noticed it. That is definitely much better almost back to normal today. Tomorrow I get my stitches out and the Steri-Strips off. I am really looking forward to that!

A little better each day. Really looking forward to getting off the Steri-Strips. Bruising is fading. Looking more and more like a minion. :D Still swollen but definitely better than a couple of days ago. I am so fair skinned that the incision lines look super duper red/pink on me. Looking forward to seeing those fade away.
