I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Janjua and my results. I've been unhappy with how wide and bulbous my nose was for as long as I can remember but never felt I needed anything done to my bridge, so I didn't feel a click with any doctor I researched until I came across Dr. Janjua's videos. This was a little reckless on my part, but after the initial consultation, I immediately felt at ease by Dr. Janjua's warm demeanor and didn't bother to go to any other doctors.
A week before your surgery, a nurse will call you and confirm your pharmacy, and send a few medications over (antibiotic pills, antibiotic cream, anti-anxiety medication for day of). Make sure to follow instructions with the antibiotics!!! I was extremely nervous going in to the procedure as I have never had any other surgeries before, but was again put at ease as soon as Dr. Janjua walked into the room. He greeted me with a warm smile and hug, and it was reassuring to know his real life and online persona are exactly the same. I was hesitant to take the anti-anxiety medication that was prescribed but was very glad I did in the end because I ended up falling asleep on the table. Dr. Janjua and the nurses are very adamant that you speak up if you're any sort of pain, even if it is a 1/10.
Afterwards, I was handed a bag with scar gel, sunscreen, splints, and was escorted to my car and spent the rest of the day resting. I was honestly surprised by how well I was still able to breathe through my nose despite there being gauze under my nostrils. My alar stitches did start to hurt after the numbing wore off, but it was very manageable with Tylenol. I recommend buying travel size hydrogen peroxide and saline solution, as those are not provided and you will need to start cleaning as soon as you can. I was able to fly home the very next day, and even though travelled by myself, I never felt I needed someone else after surgery. I wore the gauze under my nose for about 2 days until the bleeding mostly stopped, slept upright for the first week, and cleaned with hydrogen peroxide and saline solution 3 times a day until my cast came off a week later.
It is now a month out and I couldn't be more thrilled!!! Even though I know my tip will be swollen for at least the first year, I'm already super happy with my results. I love how I still look like myself (my mom even questioned if I actually got surgery at first), just with a slightly more refined nose like I've always wanted. If you're looking for a drastic change you probably won't be super satisfied, but I'm so glad my nose isn't too pointy with an unnaturally high nose bridge.
If I had to say something negative, the most annoying part of this whole journey was probably the first few days right after surgery when I had to keep the gauze under my nose, and still having to flush with saline instead of blowing my nose, but these are honestly trivial things. I also cannot stress enough to TRUST THE PROCESS. My on table pictures look nothing like what I look like now a month out because I was super swollen, and I was kinda freaked out by how uneven my nostrils during the initial few days. Just be diligent about taping as much as possible and be patient.
All in all, if you're looking for a natural result with a wonderful doctor, I cannot recommend Dr. Janjua enough!!! He is truly an artist and I am so grateful he was the one to give me the nose I've always wanted.
