How are you doing since going back to work? I'm on my 9 day post op from my extended tummy tuck and lipo of flanks. I have drs appointment tomorrow to hopefully get my drains out. I can't wait. I have not taken an actual shower just sponge bath per drs instructions. My legs and feet get swollen so I'm trying to walk as much as I can. I have not seen my stomach yet because I'm all bandaged up. So I hope I will tomorrow or when I finally get to shower. I go back to work next week and I'm worried if I'll be ready. I'm glad that your healing went well and that you are back to work! Good job on staying healthy within too!!

Forgot to ask! Did you get bruised and swelling on your legs from the lipo. I did and my feet are swollen trying to walk so it goes down.

Hey there. I'm so glad your surgery went well and you are recovering. I couldn't wait to see my belly. My first day home I opened the binder. Lol I swear my recovery started going faster after the drains were removed. Those things stressed me out, I was so worried I was going to snag one of the tubes on something and pull it out. The only bruising I had was in the upper side of my abdomen. My legs and feet have been swollen. I'm wearing pants with compression & it's helping. I worked 3 days the 3rd week after surgery. It's exhausting. My first day back was brutal. If I did it all over again I would only work half day. I took he following day off just to recoup. Week 4 (last week) was my first full week back. Everything went well. I was extremely tired by the end of every workday & had to caffeinate extra all week and then rest at home. Husband and kids took care of laundry etc. my lower legs and feet swell a bit still but I m wearing high waisted black leggings & I strap my binder on over them to the office & it's very helpful. Try to walk around as much as you can and elevate your legs at home. I'm finishing up week 4 am I swear the improvement is gaining momentum. This weekend I felt pretty close to normal..I still feel rough & tired but I truly see the light at the end of the tunnel. Woohoo!

Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly. Yeah my legs are pretty bruised up hopefully it will go away soon. I had work my compression socks for like a week after surgery so I feel like that made my swelling worst. When I took them off I started feeling less swollen on my legs. But still a little swollen. Glad you are back to normal at work. Thanks for the tips. I'm stressing about what to wear in my first week back. Shoes too!? Specially if my feet will still be swollen. I'll keep you posted as to when I get to see my tummy. I just have it all bandaged up along with my belly button and not sure if I'm supposed to take it off or I'm too scared to take it off with out the doctor. Have a wonderful day!!

My doctors instructions were a little different. He said by day 4 you can shower just take it slow and listen to your body. But I would definitely follow your docs instructions. Work wear I am going comfy and stretchy. Leggins, longer sweaters, cardigans etc..Also boots like Uggs & Bearpaw comfy. Thankfully it's old here. Let me know what your doc says about the bruising on your legs. I'm curious. And if he has any suggestions for the swelling. I would really appreciate it.

3rd week post surgery. I unfortunately I had to cancel my 3 week follow appointment due to our office being short staffed (Covid).
I’m Feeling pretty good. Experiencing swelling, tiredness & soreness. But I really think this was all to be expected. Breakfast/snacks at the office. Healing from within. Hydration/vitamins/protein. I got this!!
