My Experience with Blepharoplasty (Upper Eyelid Surgery) and Silicone Gel
Hey (M28), I had blepharoplasty about 5 weeks ago, and I want to share my experience and get some advice.
After the surgery, I had some wounds around my eyes, and my doctor recommended using an ointment for the first month to aid healing. I followed this for the first three weeks, but after that, I switched to using silicone gel, thinking it would help fade the scars.
However, since I started using the silicone gel, the incision seems to have gotten more pronounced and raised, and the wound at the corner of my eye appears bigger and redder than before. I’m really concerned that I might have done something wrong by switching to the silicone gel too soon. Could it be irritating my skin and making the incision worse?
I’m now 5 weeks post-surgery, and the raised incision and the larger wound at the end of my eye have me worried. If anyone has had a similar experience or advice on what I should do now, I’d appreciate the help! Should I go back to using the ointment, keep using the silicone gel, or try something else?
