I added my 2 week post op picks. as you can see, standing up straight looks ok but when I bend over it scrunches up, skin is loose from belly button down. I am very upset about this. when I saw the PS today and told him this he said there really isn't anything he could have done with the stretch marks on the lower half. this is what my biggest concern was and why I went back a 2nd time before surgery just to make sure that my skin would be pulled tight! I understood that my stretch marks would remain but thought they would be TIGHT. no doubt the belly is better than it was....it's flatter, less skin, and before when I would bend I not only had loose skin but I also had a bulge of fat that hung. but still am very upset over this. I knew I should have just gone with a full. do you even think I could be seen in a bikini in public??

I am so sorry you aren't happy with your results. I know we discussed a few time that you were concerned about just getting the mini instead of the full TT. I looked at your pics and you still look great either way. I will tell you one thing. There are days when I would trade with you. I am almost 6 weeks post op and so tight that I get short of breath and sick to my stomach at times from the skin being so tight in my upper abs. I'm not sure I am even glad I had the surgery at this point because even though my tummy looks great, I feel like I am slowly sufficating and have trouble eating enough to stay alive. I looked it up on line and found other girls that had these same symptoms, and said it was where the diaphram was pushed up from the muscle tightening, which led to a hiatel hernia and gerd. I already had acid reflux before the surgery, which may be the problem. I hope my PS can give me some insight on Tuesday. As far as the bikini..yes.

Sorry you are struggling....all those symptoms should pass and you will end up with a beautiful body. I am so upset I am crying....so depressed. I was happy with the results when it was swollen and I couldn't see the looseness. I guess I am just meant to keep it. My skin after my tummy tuck is what some women go in to have a TT to remove!

I think you look fine. Yes you can wear a bikini. Your stomach looks much better than it did in the before pics. I'm sure when you bent over before the surgery it was much worse. Good Luck. It looks like you are healing nicely. I'm going in on Monday. Scared to death.

I think your results are great. Your scar is nice and low....not too long either ...And you look amazing in your bikini.

I too am getting a mini this Tues. I hope my scar is low and short like yours. I really dream of wearing a bikini, once again.

I really should have gotten a full tummy tuck. I still have lots of loose skin that I am not happy with as you can see from above 2 week post op pics. I wish you luck with your mini and hope that you are happier with that decision than I am at this point. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the procedure or recovery.
I still have swelling and will wear the compression garment for two more weeks but other than that I am up and around and back to work and cleaning house. It should be an easy procedure for you

I see what you mean about the loose skin. I'm so sorry, but all in all your tummy looks great!!!!!

Yeah...I am disappointed and I am not sure what I will do about it yet. I imagine it will loosen more as time goes by and swelling goes down. It looks better than I started be ause I don't have a roll of fat and the loose skin but I thought my skin would be tight. I feel like what I am left with is what some women would go have a mini tuck to get rid of!!!
March 20, 2011
Hey, I was thinking about you today. It is unthinkable to me that your PS would just be like...Oh Well. He should have more pride in his work that to leave you with less than acceptable results, especially since you had gone to him for a second consult and he knew your concerns. Originally I went to my PS wanting a mini and he told me he wouldn't do it because I wouldn't obtain what I was looking for, and that is exactly what your PS should have told you. I know this would be difficult, but before you get any further in your recovery, is there a chance he would do a revision to a full TT. Here is my concern for you. At 40 years old my tummy looked kind of how yours looks now after your mini, but by the time I was 50 gravity had taken over and the laxity of skin and muscle started to let everything sag more. I was a size 2 body with a gob of skin as you can see in my before pics. It is so much money you have invested for you to be unhappy. Maybe you should post your pics to the panel of Dr.'s on here and see what they have to say about it. Best of luck.

I know...and I absolutely agree. I think posting to the panel I'd doctors is a good idea. My dr was very firmly saying that a mini was all I needed and his exact words to me was "if you were my sister I would tell you to only have a mini". I have been in tears. Thank you for your support

wow you look good in your two piece!!! Only being about 2 weeks out you look amazing! I think for sure a belly ring would do perfect. I wish I had a little more skin hanging over my belly button...

Thank you! I decided I will not say anything more that is negative about my results....things could be much worse and I definitely don't need to be perfect. Lol
Thank you for your compliments!! I am so glad I did his for myself (finally) and am looking forward to summer!!
Maybe a trip to Mexico for us in the near future!

I agree more of the postives should be focused on. I am excited I will be able to wear a two piece again and looking forward to seeing what it looks like without the swelling!! Do you have much swelling with the mini?

A trip to mexico sounds so fun! My mother goes to Cabo once a year with her best friend. What part of mexico do you visit?

I do have swelling....quite a bit actually but my PS says it's normal and should be normal or close in around 4 weeks. I will be 2 weeks already this thursday! Can't believe it! Yes I think I will get the piercing this summer. A few of my girlfriends have them and I always liked them but never showed my belly before--so what was the point right? I will this summer! I can't wait to work out and actually see results on my abs!
I have never been to Mexico but we are talking Cabo. My sister and her husband have been a few times and they love it.
I am actually looking forward to going somewhere wig warm bathing suit weather! I used to cringe and stress over the thought!
It's going to feel so good! Lol

you look so nice and flat I never would have thought you had a lot of swelling, I am excited to see how you look when it goes down more.

I wonder what it is going to feel like when we do get to finally work out. I had my abs tightened so they are sore andd feel like I have just done a massive ab exercise.

I think Cabo sounds just beautiful. My mom actually got her belly button done for the first time when she went to Cabo with her friend many years ago. Infact cabo seems to be the place she has lot of things done. lol.

So have you started using any scar creams yet? I have no idea what works really well

my abs were tightened too...on the bottom only. my PS said my upper abs were barely separated. I can't wait to actually work out and see the abs and results instead of looking at at saggy fatty layer on top! yaaaah for bikinis!

I did go and buy a few things for scar treatment: Maderma to be applied 3 or 4 times a day and cocoa butter cream for stretch marks and scars that I will massage 3 or 4 times a day on my hips and stomach as I still have a little bit of them left but they are not real visible. I think tanning (eventually) will help with the appearance of stretch marks too. I also bought vit. E that I will break open and massage into the scar itself as well. I can't do anything to the incision though until the wound completely heals together though. I think it's looking very nice so far.
is yours healed? what are you using?
User Avatar
March 15, 2011
Mine is healed and has been for almost two weeks. My PS was rather shocked at how fast I was healing and didnt want to see me for a month lol. I have not started to put anything on since I am not sure what works really well...I keep hearing different things
User Avatar

wow that's great that you are healing so quickly...you are what--almost 4 weeks now?? I sure hope my doctor tells me that! LOL I see him this Friday and I will be one day more than 2 weeks.
what have you heard about scar treatments and what has your PS told you?
I have kept up with a woman named Becky who had three kids two of which is a set of twins and she posted her tummy tuck journey on YouTube. you should search for "becky's tummy tuck" on youtube and watch her videos if you haven't already. she has several videos all the way through before and after surgery and all the way to scar treatments and work outs to lose more weight after surgery. she looks AMAZING from where she started. you can see as she gets further and further after surgery her self esteem really improves. anyway, she has a scar treatment video and her scar looks pretty good. she has fair skin like you with blonde hair like you.
I think her belly button looks a little weird but it's not a big deal...especially when you see what she started from. amazing.

I havent talked to my PS about it so I called today and missed the return call so I will call my PS again tomorrow and see what they say. I will have to look up the videos. I am interested in what she has to say. I specially if she has advice on more weight loss. I would like to drop to 130ish or so since I am not small. Thanks so much thats amazing you found the video.

Love the bikini pics. You look fantastic. No more stretched skin woohooo! I can't wait until my belly looks like yours. Your scar is not bad either. Your surgeon did a great job.

I think you will look great! keep me posted on your results--it will be here and gone before you know it! recovery on the mini wasn't too bad for me....and a few others on here that had mini's. you will be fine, don't worry too much. I really over think things and was freaking out about the surgery before hand and now that I am on this side of it I can say, that wasn't bad at all. :) I can't wait to start working out and actually seeing results! good luck to you!

I just added my post op pictures at 6 days....there are still sharpie markings on my stomach as I can't take a shower until tomorrow. I had the drain tube removed today and I have to wait 24 hours for the wound to heal before I can shower. I think he did a great job!
