Just last week I underwent rhinoplasty with Dr....

Just last week I underwent rhinoplasty with Dr. Hacker in Etobicoke. From the initial consultation I was very impressed with Dr. Hacker's knowledge, and his realistic expectations. He warned me about many risks associated with surgery, as is standard for surgeons to do. However, he was so thorough and so interested in the procedure and craft of rhinoplasty that I knew he would be my doctor. He has his own rhinoplasty clinic so he is very experienced and that made me really comfortable because I wanted a doctor who really had mastered this craft. He really was exceptional and he went over the one-hour mark in our consultation which showed me that he was very dedicated to his patients. I never felt like he was trying to sell me anything, and I never felt like he was rushing me, I felt like he was trying to educate me and I really appreciated that a surgeon who is so well renowned was so down-to-earth and took the time to go over all the nitty gritty details. So I went on to book the procedure which has already taken place now as I am currently 5 days post op and healing well. He was very good with responding to all my questions pre-op and post-op during surgery. He's very fast with emails and he will get back to you really fast! Ultimately, I have enjoyed this whole process and I am very happy. I had a large dorsal hump and tons of asymmetry at my tip which even though the cast is still on I think he managed to give me what I want. Perhaps it is too early to tell, so I will definitely come back and update once my cast is off!

So far day 1 and day 2 post op were the hardest days for me because of the swelling. I am a person with really sensitive eyes and I bruise like a peach so I sort of expected for it to be bad :( My eyes were swollen shut on day- 2 post op and I tried to sleep as much as I can to avoid having to feel trapped and unable to open my eyes. But it only lasted that one day and on day 3 I was much better.
Days 3-5 post op were much better!! Swelling went down significantly I can open my eyes fully now and I am free to watch netflix and read. It's just day 2 post op that was my worst day.
The dryness of the mouth has been getting easier also because I think I can sorta take some small breaths through my nose?! I know right. It gives my mouth a break at times. The nostrils were very clogged with dried blood and doctor hacker suggested putting polysporin ointment around the rim of the nostrils which was a great idea because it helps loosen the blood and it dripped down and slowly the clogged nostrils were bearable again!
I have also purchased a saline rinse although I am waiting for cast removal to use it because I dont really understand how you can use that with splints inside your nose?
For diet, I've been drinking water like a fish! Eating really soft foods like soup, mashed patatoes, pudding, low salt crackers and pineapple juice!
I got a craving for noodles on day 3 and ate some....BIG MISTAKE! I threw up, don't overestimate how much your body can take after all the drugs. Just gonna eat light for a while.
I take the pills Dr gave me when I start to feel a headache or pressure coming on, there hasn't really been any bad pain. Just discomfort from feeling really clogged up but I guess thats been okay Its not the worst thing and I expected it.
I sleep a lot and now that it is day 5 I have been feeling more alive and I am so excited to get my cast off!
I will update again when that happens :)
I hope this helps someone out there, I know these reviews were so helpful to me so I just want to post this in case this information can be useful to one of you! And Dr. Hacker has been so good to me I wanted to give him some recognition for being wonderful. Heres to hoping that cast removal goes well!

Thanks for reading :)

cast comes off the day after tomorrow!

Okay so my cast is going to come off very very soon and I'm so excited! I am so ready for this thing to come off my face because it is so dang itchy!! I have a feeling that I'm gonna have a pimple when he takes the cast off. I don't normally break out on my nose but I just have this feeling that this cast has given me my first nose pimple. But I guess if the results are too my expectations it is a small price to pay.

Right now my tip is really high, I didn't want it this high but I've been told that the splints give the nose a piggy appearance so I'm excited to see how much the tip will drop. I did ask the tip to be made higher initially but only by a smidge! I wanted the tip to be less bulbous and mainly I wanted the large dorsal hump to be gone in my side profile. I can already see that a lot of the tip asymmetry is gone and I hope thats not just the just tape playing a trick on me, I'll post pics of the tip when the cast comes off too.

So now I'm just hoping for the best, that when the cast comes off my nose is sloped and that I like it. I've been so happy so far with what I can see, and I just don't want it to be too good to be true.
Well I guess only time will tell :) Ill add clearer pictures of the "after" once the cast is off!

Cast off! Heres my nose!! :)

Hey guys so as promised here is an update with picture. First I will show you some more "befores" so you can see what an amazing job he really did!
I am SO HAPPY! Dr. Hacker went above and BEYOND my expectations. My tip was so bulbous and uneven before I didn't even think it was possible to correct it, but he did. Everyone's anatomy inside their nose is different so he warned me that when he gets in my nose he might not be able to make my tip entirely perfect, and that all he could do was his best. Well in this case his best was unbelievably good! I was pretty confident that he could get rid of my bump because that is quite standard, and he got the slope just right! I'm in love.
