WORTH IT
Let me know if you see what I see. ( I understand I’m still healing hence the unsure rating). I’m really praying for the best.
I recently had a rhinoplasty procedure where I had alarplasty to reduce the width of the base of my nose and had an implant put in to raise my dorsal (nose bridge).
My overall concern was that my nose fanned out at the top and was flat. I had filler in my before pics (loved the filler results, but wanted something permanent).
At this stage I have several concerns listed below:
1. My nose has no shape ( giving piggy)
2. My nose at the top (bridge) is still very wide ( I asked for an osteotomy multiple & was told it wasn’t needed, so I’m really hoping the wideness is due to swelling)
3. My nose bridge does not have a shape ( look how it stood out in my before pics)
4. All this combined makes my nose look flat from the front view.
My sis said it best my nose is not giving what it’s supposed to be giving at the moment.
Positives:
1.The staff are very polite and are pretty good at getting back to you if you have a question.
2. I seem to be healing okay (knock on wood).
3. Paying was an easy process.

I'm not sure why you got a nose job. Your nose was perfect before. I would've just done a simple alar base reduction and called it a day. Your bridge was straight, defined and so eas the tip. Only thing was the basal flaring.

The bridge was built up using filler, I wanted something more permanent.

I agree at this stage of healing I’m not happy.

You need to be patient you do not see results overnight. I saw Dr.Janjua and it took time or the swelling to go down.

I Cried Today

kurama102
I woke up today, not happy at all. I’m a very optimistic person, but my optimism is lessening as I enter the second week, which according to most doctors is when a lot of the swelling begins to go down.
I woke up today missing my old nose, or to be more specific my old nose bridge.
The definition in the lower half of my nose is not there and I’m starting to think it’s not due to swelling. When I feel it it’s bone, and my nose bridge remains undefined. Still feel like my nose resembles a blob at this point.
Idk I’m disappointed, I called the doc to ask if the bridge will become more pronounced, I was told to wait 3 months and it’s hard to say.
I don’t think that really answered my question, I’m sure he’s done 100s of nose jobs so, he knows what’s possible during the healing process.
I’m really hoping I didn’t mess up here.
I think my biggest annoyance is I specifically asked to break the bone in my nose to bring my bridge in, because I know without filler I have a wide bridge.
I specified I didn’t like the fanning affect going on when you looked down on my face it made my nose look bigger.
I wasn’t sure if just adding a bridge would give me the affect I want.
I was told I could fix it if I didn’t like it, I don’t want to go through the surgical process twice, I should have pushed but I thought he knew what he was talking about.
Now I look like a fool, it’s sad an funny at the same time, my mother told me not to do it, but I did it anyway now I feel like an idiot.
I cried today. I felt like I was clear with what I wanted and I did not get that, everyone said I wasted my money.

Hi! I definitely see a nose bridge. The swelling is usually bad in general around the tip of your nose. Don’t get discouraged! You’re beautiful:)

I don't know what doctor said most of the swelling goes down at the 2 week mark...THATS simply not true. I had a lot of swelling for the first 2 to 3 months you also have to factor in this oppressive heat which can play a part.

Honestly I'm gonna say wait it out. I was SO flared up at the tip months after (I had mine in April.) I just started now to experience my nose getting a lot smaller. My swelling was worse with the mask and as I went running too. Mine told me to wait a full year for my swelling bc I have thick skin. Hang in there! Once the swelling goes it should have some shape :)

I am 11 months post op and some days the swelling is there and others it isn't. Some days my nose aches, most it doesn't. Everyone is different, dont be disheartened, I promise you that you do not have a clue what the end result will be 2 weeks post op, think more 1-2 years.

Hi yes you are totally correct, my experience matches yours, thank you.

Happy With My Decision

kurama102
I am happy with my decision to get my rhinoplasty, my nose was definitely swollen when I first got the surgery and I began to question my decision. However, I can see the definition in my nose now and my alar base is smaller, giving me a nose that I believe fits my face better.
I definitely did not wait before my original review, which was my mistake definitely wait ladies the results you want will show, give it time.
My nose still gets swollen sometimes then at other times it gets super small. As of right now I think I would like to get a tiplasty, but I’m happy with my current results so yay.
Lesson learned wait and give it time.
