My name is Sharon Steigers, and I live in Littleton, Colorado.
Ten years ago during a routine checkup my primary care physician noticed an irregularity in my skin on the left side of the bridge of my nose. Dr. Joel Cohen was one of the specialist doctors she recommended that I see for a more detailed evaluation. Fortunately for me, Dr. Cohen’s office made me a priority and was able to promptly get me in for an evaluation.
From the first appointment I had with Dr. Cohen, he was and has continued to be fully focused on my situation and on me as a person. Dr. Cohen demonstrated an extremely high level of competence and professionalism, and he is very thorough and knowledgeable regarding all aspects of skin cancers.
Dr. Cohen confirmed that the irregularity on my nose was basal cell carcinoma. I was promptly scheduled for Mohs surgery, which Dr. Cohen personally performed. The cancer being on my face, it was a delicate situation. Dr. Cohen performed the surgery very skillfully, removing only the material that was necessary and leaving all normal tissue intact. I am very pleased with the resulting look.
I have found that through Dr. Cohen and his professional practice I now have access to state of the art medical and cosmetic procedures and skin care products. Though I started out as an anxious patient with skin cancer, Dr. Cohen addressed that. Since that time, Dr. Cohen’s practice has allowed me to confidently move ahead with advanced skin care and prevention practices that not only help protect me from future cancer but have improved the overall condition of the skin on my face and neck. This has allowed me to relax in the confidence and knowledge that there is no one better qualified to advise me on how to care for my skin than Dr. Cohen and his staff.
