My redness is less but still there. I've been receiving the gentle waves light treatments 2x per week. Today is Friday I started a PRP therapy; it was applied to the outside of my skin where it is still red. On Monday I will go and receive PRP injections to help speed the healing for what appears to be my overly sensitive skin. Will post more photos next week.

I am glad I am not the only one still having issues. I had mine done on Jan 25 2016 and I now have a rash on my neck and front of chin it's a burning, itchy like little electric shocks. Saw the dr AGAIN on Wednesday he put me back on Predisone for 3 days and steroid cream. Plus I had laser liposoylis on my chin jowls jawline so that's still very sore. He told me looks like contact dermatitis which I've NEVER EVER had anywhere. I'm over it. I can use my normal face wash or anti aging creams. Using Cetaphil and got Aveeno for eczema that has all natural moisturizing ingredients feels better than steroid cream which burned. He said electric zaps where the nerves are reconnecting?
Oh well I guess I will just go there weekly as I have been till "cured". Sorry to vent just over it. I thought worst over but just keeps going. Good luck to you thank you for posting your journey makes me feel not so "nuts".

I meant to say I cannot use my normal face wash or my normal products.

I must be very lucky. I had it Thursday and have no issues except a little redness, bruising and blochiness.

You don't have overly sensitive skin - the Dr.used a setting that was too strong. He said so himself. Either that or the machine malfunctioned. All these RF and IPL machines are unreliable, not very effective, and very risky. It's like playing Russian Roulette - you never know if you'll get a disaster. I had a disaster w/IPL, and it was the same way - the dr. tried to do too much all at one time. At least your dr. is trying to fix it. A good # of them run away w/ their $$.

What was final result???

Just curious, is it the same doctor you originally went to doing the current treatments and is he charging you for all the remedial work??
March 15, 2017
Yes he's the same doctor and no he didn't charge me. He made himself and staff available when I was going through the follow up procedures. It was often a couple times a week which put a big dent in my personal schedule, but they were accommodating.

Day 7

I went to the doctor yesterday. He said that the reason why I am still inflamed is because for a one time session, he used a higher, deeper setting. Most people have several sessions (4-6) and for my issues, he felt one intense session would address it. He gave me steroids of which I took the first dose last night and another dose this morning, reducing dose each day till gone. (6,5,4,3 ...). Said after 48 hours should see a significant reduction in redness (inflammation). I'll post more pics tomorrow.

I hope that helps you. When I had this procedure done he used a higher level as well. But, he gave me a prescription of Valtrex to prevent cold sore lesions. He said "some" people develope cold sores? Just a thought could yours possibly be that? I never had lesions like that just a sandpaper rash very itchy and bruising which on day 17 I'm pretty well healed no bruising etc just majorly sensitive skin on neck area. I hope you heal very soon best of luck to you.

Hi!
I am having issues myself recovering from this treatment (you can see my thread and pictures by looking up my name).
I'm curious to see if you have improved in the last 2 weeks. I have but very slowly and have a LONG way to go..
February 22, 2016
Hi. I just read your review and updates. I think we both have extremely sensitive skin which is why it's taking longer. I am slowly getting better. Dr. says all this will go away in about another week (at 3 weeks tomorrow). The red blotches are still there, and he used another treatment for redness that was done last week and really helped.

He did say I was getting hyperpigmentation too, but suggested I wait till the redness goes away before using hydroquinone to treat that. I did use it one day last week and it made it much redder. So I would stay away from anything other than a cream to reduce inflammation. He also gave me doxycycline for the acne I started to get from the creams and moisturizer I've been using. Maybe you can ask your doc about desonide cream. It seems to bring down the raised marks and redness.

Did anyone suggest shark oil to aid in healing? Worked well for my Mother in her second Thermage treatment...
