My Acne Scar Story - Im currently 28. When I was about 13 and began puberty my skin went haywire and left me with these huge holes in my face. For years I thought they were open pores so I purchased thousands of dollars worth of peels, scrubs, makeup, poor filler/primer. At age 19 I realized they were acne scars & that I needed to seek medical advice. I paid a couple thousand at a place called Reflections Center in Livingston I worked with Dr. Chasin. He was nice however the Fraxel and Isolaz did NOT work and I was crushed. I ran out of money and still had these holes in my face. I gave up & went back to thousands in face products.

Finding Treatment - After almost 10 years I decided medicine had probably advance and did a lot of research. What stuck out for me about Dr. Rapaport was the fact that they specialize in acne scars. I came in for my consultation and gave him my story which was very emotional for me if I recall I began crying. He was very honest he showed me before and after photos of people who had what seemed to be craters in their face magically gone in the after photos. I was so excited I saved up and went for it he told me I’d need 3 sessions and I felt so hopeful!

The process – Each session is about $695 the first was $795. It’s expensive and not covered by insurance so you have to evaluate how important this is to you. Personally I’m exhausted of makeup, skin products, etc. When you arrive they take your blood just about a tube full. They then spin out your platelets and the Dr. comes in and begins using a small machine I can describe as a small hairbrush looking object only with needles attached to it very long thin needles. If you are not good with pain you will want to speak to them about a numbing cream. I won’t sugar coat it my God it hurts I cry every time. He tries to move fast and thoroughly. He puts the platelets liquid on your face, needles, stops puts more platelets, needles again. After its done your face is swollen and it stings a bit but it doesn’t really hurt that much. You HAVE to sleep elevated or you will wake up a giant puff ball trust me -_-. I get them done on Thursdays so that I only have to take of Friday from work. Your face doesn’t look great but it also doesn’t look awful I suppose everyone is different.

Results – I have definitely seen results so far. I have had 2 sessions and today is my 3rd and hopefully last. We have mainly focused on my cheeks. Anything below my eye up to my nose and down to the bottom of my face. The ones by my nose are almost entirely gone. I had one on my forehead is 90% gone, the big ones on my cheek are about 75% gone I’m hoping so badly that they’ll be 100% by this session. I had the very deep V shaped scars so if you have more superficial ones I would 100% do this procedure. The one on my forhead was more U shaped and it almost disappeared already!

The Dr. – In general I like him. Hes not a fluffy bs type of guy he looks at your face up close and personal and analyzes your skin, and he tells you the truth. There was a more expensive procedure he told me not to get. He gave me the face lotion I needed for recovery free after the 1st session. After the 2nd session he gave me a free micro needle with the solution. He seems just genuinely invested in making certain that my scars go away which makes him stand out from any other doctor I’ve been to in general.

Overall – Pros: YOU WILL SEE RESULTS. Cons – Holy crap it hurts.
It’s expensive but honestly any face procedure is.

Ill post all my pics after the entire thing is done i have begining to end pics
