Embrace Active Scar Therapy
UPDATED FROM TA143
Round 3
Just applied my treatment today. I must say that I do feel more secure with them over my incisions especially at night when I sleep bc I move around a lot and I’m sure the sheer force (tension) of my incisions from me moving side to side against my mattress sheets isn’t the best. Or at least it feels that way without the scar sheets on. But as I mentioned before they definitely don’t make me feel sexy at all. With that being said I can’t wait to be done and over with these sheets just for that reason alone. I have not had any irritability with them being on; instead just a little from taking them off.
UPDATED FROM TA143
About to start round three
I’ve done two applications so far (it’s been about 1 week since my last) I’ve been so busy and haven’t made time to put on my next treatment. I have been wearing mine for 14 days instead of 10 days since they adhere well with the tegaderm. The only spot I have trouble with is on my Pubic hair. It recommends trimming and not shaving prior to applying but I’m thinking I’m going to shave before putting on my next treatment so it will adhere in that area better.
My scar is still thin, light and flat so I’m happy with that. I still
Have 1 1/2 months worth of treatment left so I’m looking forward to Seeing If there’s a big difference by then!!

Im still just in love with your scar! I shaved the day of treatment the first time and there was some initial irritation, but on round two I shaved the day before treatment and I had no irritation whatsoever. Your incision looks so neat and thin!
I shaved a couple days before I applied them today. I would definitely recommend doing that than just trimming hair (like they recommend) bc they do not stay over that area due to the hair.
Yours are perfection as well!!!

Thank you :) I've been pleased so far with Embrace. My scar has gotten considerably flatter.
Thank you for the continuous updates! I just got a FDL TT on Aug 2nd, so it'll be a while before I start scar treatment, but I'm trying to budget accordingly. Embrace seems to have such mixed reviews on the process and result so I'm wary about spending so much money.
Please keep updates coming! :) SO helpful!

Yes it’s a lot to spend on scar treatment for sure. I’ve only tried these scar sheets as I’m looking for active tension reduction in my sheets as that is an important factor for me. All I can say is that I’m not aware of my scar widening wether it has anything to do with these or not. But I didnt want to take any chances so it’s worth it!
Your results are perfection. Your scar is in the perfect place, and its already healing up so well! Your PS is awesome !
Thank you!
UPDATED FROM TA143
Took embrace off today
I kept the scar sheets on for two weeks and actually due to the tegaderm they were still adhered really well to my skin and I could have kept them on longer. However, since it was my first time using them I chose to take them off to check my skin out. My sin surrounding my scar looked fine, no irritability.
I sat in the shower (I still have my shower chair in there) with it being hot and steamy. I began peeling back very slowly with adhesive remover.. rubbing it between the scar sheet and where it is adhered to my skin. I found rubbing it worked best. It probably took me 20-25? For my TT scar and both breasts. The breast ones were a lot easier. It wasn’t too bad removing them BUT you will need the adhesive remover. I couldn’t imagine doing it without it.
I was really worried about the removal factor as I did not want to harm my healing incision what so ever. Thankfully, as long as your patient and go slow and use the adhesive remover
it’s not that bad!
I’m not expecting any change to my scar with one application so my scar looks about the same.. pink and darker pick on my sides. My scar is smooth and has not widened any! As long as my scar doesn’t widened during the healing process I’m a happy girl!

Good to know! Thanks for all the helpful info!
Thanks for the update :) Your scar still looks amazing and can't wait to see how it looks after round two!
What size tegaderm did you get? Or did you get the roll?
I Got both.. I was trying to look for it last night and I must have misplaced it darn it. Not sure if
I took a pic of it on my other review page? I’ll have to look!

Have you use the role yet? Another lady on here so the role wasn't near as adhesive as the patches? Just curious which one you found to be better.
I used both as I was able to custom cut the roll for certain areas and it worked fine for me. It adhered just as well as the other. I also think it’s very important to alcohol swab your skin to get the oils off before applying any of it to make it stick the best!
Thank you! I purchased some patches at target this morning and I ordered a roll off of Amazon :)
How is your scar therapy going? Can you see any difference at all yet? I took mine off last night and noticed my incision is much flatter!
Not sure if I notice any difference. However, my scar is still flat, light colored and is still thin and not widening. Their is a lot of research behind these so I’m sure it’s working it’s magic!!
What adhesive remover did you use?
Allkare
Which adhesive remover did you use? Can you link your other patches (the ones u used to apply additional adhesive to the embrace strips)?
I used tegaderm that I bought off amazon and allkare adhesive remover which definitely
Made it easier!
Made it easier!
I took a picture of the supplies I use!!
