Hi everyone,
I'm two weeks after my smart lipo procedure in 5 areas and I am very lumpy and swollen. I seem to be so much more swollen now than I was a week ago and I'm worried?
I have been eating a very low carb diet (40-50g per day maximum) so it can't be weight gain.
I know I'm going to be swollen for a long time and I was expecting that, but I'm just worried that the swelling seems to be increasing?
Also, all of my lower abdomen is one big hard lump, is that normal?

Hi Jayd, I also had smart Lipo carried out at Elanic in January. I had the procedure done to my inner and outer thighs and also my flanks. Whilst the flanks settled down , I had lumpiness and unevenness to my thighs. My first procedure wasn't a very good experience. There were some errors made with regards to my care. I did make a complaint and I have to say, they took them on board and addressed every issue and made changes to future practice. They have carried out two further revisions and this has helped. In addition, I receive I-Lipo treatments and this has made a vast difference. Its early days for you and it will settle down eventually. Don't be afraid to let them know your concerns as they are very approachable and will do everything to correct anything you are unhappy about. I was unlucky the first time but they have addressed this and have been more than attentive since. Don't worry it will settle down and if not, they will not leave you high and dry. X

Oh no, sorry to hear that. I can't speak highly enough of the clinic and the attitudes of all of the staff. Very professional but very laid back at the same time which I find very comforting for such a big thing. I was actually back in yesterday for my second lot of lipo with 3.5 litres taken again. So I have now had the whole of my thighs, upper, middle and lower abdomen, flanks, arms, bra fat. Basically everywhere other than my lower legs! I'm very sore again but my lumps from the first procedure have settled down but I am also going to take the I-lipo treatments too [RS bleep]

The hard lumps are normal as well as a dozen other things during recovery that will surely test your patience and emotions...sorry, but it's a very aggravating and sometimes depressing recovery process.. Now, having said that, it gets better and better with time and I can attest to the fact that the differences are huge after about 4 months. I am at 6 months now and have already forgotten the trials and tribulation from the first 5 months. Hang in there it is a long ride.

Hello! Hope you’re well! Just seen your advice and comment on a post about smart lipo! And wondered if you could give me some hope!!! I had smart lipo 3 months ago! The day after surgery my stomach was flat and fabulous! Loved it! Ever since, I’ve just swelled and explanded! My diet is fine and I’m the same weight but I just feel so deflated and upset that I feel I’ve wasted all that money as the results aren’t coming!!!! The surgeon has said to be patient but I can’t see any light at the end of the tunnel at all :( very upsetting! Was hoping you could maybe give me a little positivity and hope haha!? Xx

Still feeling really sore and swollen but gained back a lot of mobility. I am very bruised also but I haven't looked at my body properly as I'm very squeamish. I am starting to develop hard lumps in all of the areas I had the surgery but I am assured this is normal. The results are getting better and better each day and I can see that the shape of my body has changed so much! 5 more weeks to go until the big reveal :)

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would share my experience with you all. I had smart lipo 2 days ago with local anaesthetic and sedation and although I am in my garment and I am very swollen and bruised I have no doubt whatsoever that this procedure is going to be life changing.

I can already see the results, my incisions are tiny, and overall my pain is manageable. I cannot believe my luck!

I chose Elanic Clinic in Glasgow and could not speak more highly of my experience. The staff are fantastic, so genuine and friendly, my surgeon Vivek Sivarajan put me at ease and I can already tell he has worked wonders!

If anyone in Scotland is considering this procedure you must contact them!

I have attached photos and will update as I progress.

The one piece of advice would be to do as much research as possible so you are as prepared as you can be for every aspect of the process. Personally I find things much easier to deal with and cope with so the more you know, the more prepared you are for your journey!

I will definitely keep you updated!!! I am very sore and my mobility is limited but it's improving every day and already I can see such a difference even though my body is still hugely swollen so I'm excited to see the end product :) [RS bleep]
