Hi everyone. I naturally have very thin lips and I have always hated them. So I first got juverderm in may. I only got the .4 ml syringe at the time and the doctor pretty much only put it in my top lip. So my top lip was more defined but my bottom lip was still really thin. It took me a long time to go back to get anymore because it hurts so much and is costly. But I recently decided to get more and I am pretty happy with the results. This time I got the bigger syringe wig has 1.2 Mls. I think I may need a tiny bit more in a few months to achieve the look I want.
Here are some things I've learned from my two times getting juverderm. First go to a plastic surgeon. The place I've gone to both times is one of those med spa things and I feel like the after care lacks. The doctor is also in and out of the room very quickly and isn't too concerned with what I want more of what he thinks they should look like. Apparently I have a crooked bottom lip when I smile (which I had noticed but not near as much as I did after the injections) I feel my bottom lip has too much juverderm on one side that the other but the doctor said it's my lip. Well I feel he should have noticed that and made them symmetrical. When I went back at the one week mark (because I called and said my lip was crooked they don't schedule post injection appointments), he told me I had 3 options: more juverderm, injections to dissolve it or just leave it alone. I chose to leave it alone. But I found it funny how when they are trying to sell you juverderm they say it lasts 8 months to a year but when I was complaining about too much on one side he said "in a couple of months it will all dissolve and you'll be back to base line." Next don't judge or lips until 2 weeks after you get the injections and during that two weeks they will feel hard and you'll think what did I do!? Today is two weeks for me and my lips look really good. I still see and feel the product that one side is larger than the other but it's only when I smile.
