Update and Before/After (2 days post)

Well I'm feeling pretty good overall. Of course I'm sore, tender and itchy but I'm trying to rest so I don't put too much stress on my body. I can cope with the discomfort well so I want to be doing all sorts of things so it's a bit of a challenge for me to take it easy. Sleeping was tough but only cause I had to use the washroom every two hours! Better be that tumscent fluid leaving my body, lol.

Yesterday I couldn't upload a picture of myself, I was a little discouraged. I see change but my pouch is still there. But I'm hoping once the swelling improves and all the fluid leaves my system I'll be happy with the outcome. Keeping a positive attitude!

Procedure /Day 1 Update

Hi all!

Thank you for your support, this site is awesome!

Yesterday I had my SmartLipo and it went smoothly! The worst part was the tumescent anesthesia (lidocaine/epinephrine/normal saline concoction). They used around 4 liters! I was literally a balloon, hah. I gotta hand it to Dr. Lycka and my nurse, Ashley, for distracting me during this portion. We had great conversation and it truly took the edge off! The lipo portion was essentially painless and in some sensitive spots I just ask for them to put some extra anesthesia in. In total there was about 800cc's of fat removed. I have no clue if that's "enough" but I'm not worrying about that now. For now my only concern is my recovery. I was wrapped up in about 11 adult depends and 2 adjustable compression garment. I looked like I was expecting with all this on! But its great cause I've had very little of the drainage leak through.

Yesterday while I was still numb I felt great. I was given Librium and personally that made me feel a little goofy. I got home and dancing(ish) and just joking around with my boyfriend. We really had a good laugh at my Buddha belly. Pain began setting in after 4 hours or so. Since then, it comes and goes but is completely bearable. I was given a prescription for T3 so I picked that up just in case the pain escalates.

At the moment I'm still wrapped up in these depends. I have no idea what I look like underneath! I can take them off once I reach the 24 hour point. Not going to expect too much on day 1 but am hopeful I can see some indication of change :)

Once I get this thing off and have chance to clean up and tend to my wounds, I will definitely load my before and after shots!

Hi all! Finally, I'm taking the time to document...

Hi all!

Finally, I'm taking the time to document my SmartLipo journey :)
I am a 25 year old female with no kids. On September 2nd I'll be getting my upper and lower andomen, flanks, love handles and bra strap area sculpted using SmartLipo. I'm also considering if I want to do my knees, outer and inner thighs after this.

About 2 years ago I noticed a rapid change in my weight. I grew everywhere so I was proportional but nothing fit right and naturally I became a bit self-conscious. So I got a personal trainer and worked very hard in the gym 5-6 times a week (weight training and HIIT cardio) Over time I began enjoying it but saw little to no results physically. After 6 months or so of a strict work out regime my doctor checked my hormones and there was nothing to explain my weight gain and difficulty losing it. I then got a nutritionist to help me out in that area and provide a food plan for me. If you haven't guessed it already, that didn't work either. Throughout this time my confidence really dropped. My relationship with food became unhealthy as I obsessed over getting thin. It was depressing to see others reach their goals while I work just as hard and see no change but am doing everything "right". So after reaching my boiling point I decided to do my research and look into treatments to help me with the areas I struggle with most. I initially did coolsculpting (Feb/Mar 2015) and spent about 3000 CAD. I knew its supposed to be a gradual lose so I waited 6 months before really scrutinizing my results. Sadly that didn't work for me either, I look exactly the same! I knew there was a chance of this so I wasn't overly disappointed. That brings me to where I am now. After all the money I've spent on food plans, trainer sessions and coolsculpting I feel like I should have just done SmartLipo from the beginning, lol. I don't dwell on that though. I've learnt a lot during this process and know I have developed a healthier lifestyle that will continue to keep me strong and healthy in the years to come.

I chose to go to Dr. Lycka because of his visibility and exposure. He is well known and I felt that his success is due to his high standards of excellence and quality practice. I've read many reviews about SmartLipo scams and obviously I wanted to avoid that! I trust that Dr Lycka is an honest man and from the consultation I gather he really knows what he is doing! He's done this for 30 years and really stood by his technique. He wants to best results and explained how it will be achieved. I'm excited! The road a head is going to be bumpy but I'm very hopeful and trust that I am in good hands.

Thanks for reading, pictures and updates to come soon!
