Hey!
I've been getting quite a few messages so I thought I would post an update. I'm still not taking any vitamins and so far it has had no bad effects on me. My hair hasn't had any excessive shedding or reaction. I feel the same as when I took them... wonder what that means. I'm still using the Tree to Tub shampoo and I've recently got the conditioner called Awakening Peppermint. I don't use conditioner on my scalp, just my ends so I haven't seen any changes in my hair loss using the conditioner but it does make my hair very soft! I've been using the shampoo for about 2 months now and I have to say I really like it. My hair is softer, it has definitely slowed the loss, and I have baby hairs all over my head. After I blow dry my hair it looks like I've stuck my finger in a light socket with all the baby hairs sticking straight out. lol. Kind of annoying because they are not easily tamed BUT I will take it! That means my hair is thickening up! I've discontinued the Ordinary hair serum I was using though. Not because it wasn't working but it just made my hair greasy. I tried it a few different ways...on dry hair, on wet hair then blow dry, but no matter what I'd still have a greasy feeling and I already have an oily scalp so it just didn't work for me. I haven't started with any other serum yet and I don't think I will for a while. This shampoo is working for me so I'm going to stick with it!

Hi there, just checking in on results from PRP. I'm thinking of doing it since being diagnosed with AGA. Thanks

Sorry for the late reply. I didn't see this message. No results unfortunately but I got PRP injected with the gun not a needle, by hand...I did hear the needle is the better way to go.

Hi I’ve just read you’re review. I’ve been doing the same taking loads of vitamins.ive also have vitamin injections of biotin and bepanthen. Ive also had 5 injections of prp to the scalp. Like you I’m
Searching for the cure. I’ve just discovered onnyou tube the rice water rinse. Youtubers are going mad for it saying that it grew there hair faster. Anything’s worth a try at this point and it’s natural.
If you find the holy grail
Please let me know.

Hello,
I've heard of the rice water as well. Haven't tried it. Seems interesting though! I actually got some blood work done for food sensitivities and vitamin deficiencies about a year ago... I've got a ton of sensitivities and vitamin deficiencies which makes sense since I was having so many hair and skin issues. I've been working on my gut health since then and avoiding my food sensitivities. I believe I have pretty bad leaky gut among other things... It's been a slow process but I've definitely been improving...And I've had issues for 15 years so I know it's going to take a year or two to get fully better. I completely believe gut health is where a lot of problems lie for people. My hair isn't shedding, acne getting better, inflammation lowered, I've even been able to loose some weight that I could never get rid of even though I work out 4-5 days a week and eat healthy. I would recommend getting those tests done if you can. If not, work on ways that could heal your gut. Tons of info online. )

Thanks for
That I’ve had all the blood tests for deficiencies and also my hormones.
Everything kept coming back normal.
I will definitely look into the leaky gut thing though as I suffered acne in my late teens and 20s but I cured it in my early 30s

April 10, 2019 Update on Hair Loss!

k.kales
Hey!
I haven't posted anything for a while so I thought I would post an update with how I'm doing with my hair loss. About two weeks ago I decided to stop ALL vitamins. I know, crazy right. I have been taking multiple vitamins, supplements, etc. for years! I can't even remember a time I haven't taken some form of vitamin. I honestly just started getting overwhelmed. I was researching like crazy, I ended up buying Priorin and some other supplements to start a new regime to see if this would be my fix! Well, I only got about three pills into the package and I just had a huge change of heart. Like I said, I've been taking supplements basically my entire teenage/ young adult life and it seems I've only gained in the amount of issues I've had. I have a lot more than just hair loss I deal with every day and it seems my hair and skin have just become increasingly sensitive as the years have gone by and I was beginning to freak out. I can't live like this anymore. SO I decided to stop it all. I already eat healthy and exercise everyday, maybe I was just overloading my body with extra vitamins that I just don't need? I don't know... that's theory of the month. So, what am I doing now? No extra vitamins, eating fruits AND vegetables at every meal, trying to get in some form of exercise everyday; whether it's going to the gym, jogging, or taking my dog for a walk, and most of all, trying to keep a positive outlook and BELIEVE that I will get better. (Power of the mind, right?) I have started a new shampoo and hair serum that I'm kinda excited about though... Shampoo is called Tree to Tub the Activation Blend. It has a ton of great ingredients like soapberry, aloe vera, saw palmetto, and caffeine (which are the first four ingredients). It's supposed to obviously help with hair loss as well as keep your scalp at the right PH level, it's anti-inflammatory, among other things. I suggest giving it a google! For conditioner, I'm still using my Rocky Mountain Soap Stimulating Conditioner. Then when I'm out of the shower and I let my hair air dry a bit I use The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density. I've only been using it for about 10 days so I will have to wait and see how it turns out but I swear my hair has been falling out a bit less every time I use it and it looks and feels healthier. Greatest thing about it, it's $17 and I swear the bottle will last for 6 months, maybe more because you only need a tiny bit to rub into your scalp. I would go into more explanation about it but I feel like I'm already writing a super long post so please google this as well! I mean for $17 it's worth a try. WAY cheaper than Rogaine and a lot of other hair serums. So yeah! This is what I'm most recently doing. I've only stopped taking all vitamins about 2 weeks ago so I haven't seen any side effects yet (like my hair falling out in clumps or something) and I'm hoping I won't! Fingers crossed! I will post another update in two months to let you know if this new plan has been working or not!

That shampoo is currently in my cart on amazon! Lol. How do you like it so far? I’m hoping it’ll help stop my hair fall and dandruff :-)
April 10, 2019
I like it! Cleans well for me. It doesn’t sud up a lot but it’s all natural so I expected that. I haven’t felt my hair getting thicker yet but I definitely have less hair fall in the shower. It says to use for at least three months before you see results, so that’s what I’m gunna do.
April 10, 2019
Awesome :-) I’ve been using a completely natural shampoo and conditioner for two years but I think it dries out my scalp :-/! Sometimes my scalp feels irritated. I’d love to try this one if it’s gentle and moisturizing!
April 10, 2019
I really like it so far. It’s supposed to help with scalp irritation so I would try it out!
April 10, 2019
Will do! Thanks for this :-)

Thanks for posting an update! Ironically, I have been thinking the same thing- all of the money that I have spent on all of these supplements has left me near broke and I am starting to wonder if they really do make a difference. I am so scared to stop though. What if my hair REALLY starts to fall out in clumps- I hardly have any hair to begin with and couldn't afford that to happen.
I may try the shampoo if you really think it helps. Please continue to keep us posted on your progress.

Have you tried Nioxin by Wella. A lot of people have had very good results. They have a shampoo, conditioner and various treatments. Also a friend of mine has tried a Themodome and says that her hair a improved. You need to use it a few times a week but it comes with full instructions. Good luck.

Hi k.kales! Hope you're doing well! Wanted to check in to see how your new plan was working out. Can't wait to hear about your results!

June 19, 2019
Hey there. Thanks for all your updates about your PRP treatments and what you’re doing. I am going to be doing PRP soon with ACell and they will write a prescription for Finasteride (Brand name: Propecia). I know I have had some friends take Finasteride itself and it’s helped their hair loss. So I’m hoping combined with my PRP treatment, that it will help me how I need it too.

Maybe ask your doctor and see what you think. I feel you may also get the results you want too hopefully.

Hope your hair comes back better every month onwards. Wish you all the best!

Oh, and thanks for the recommendations of the shampoo I am definitely going to try them all! Haha!!

October 9, 2018 Update

k.kales
Hey!
So, it's been about a year since I got my first PRP done. Honestly, I haven't seen any major improvements from the PRP. I did 3 sessions, maybe I needed more but I wanted to update on the vitamins and new hair products I'm using. I've been taking Foligrowth from Advanced Trichology for about 3 months, I just started taking Omega-3 from Kiva, and I have been taking Milk Thistle from PhiNaturals for about 3 months now. I've also started using Stimulating shampoo and conditioner from Rocky Mountain Soap Company. I love this company. They are based out of here in Alberta and use all natural ingredients. The Stimulating shampoo and conditioner has a ton of scalp stimulating ingredients. Now I can't attribute my hair loss slowing from any particular product but it seems whatever I've been doing has been helping. (It is also the beginning of winter here in Edmonton and they do say that you won't shed as much in the winter. It's your bodies way of trying to keep warm I guess lol.) The amount I shed in the shower has gone down by about half. I've also been using womens Rogaine for just over 3 months. I've only been using it on my receded sides so I'm still on my first bottle. My sides seem to have filled in a bit. I haven't had any bad reactions from Rogaine so I'm going to keep using it for another 3 to 4 months to see if my sides will fill in completely. One thing I've noticed is that when I'm extremely stressed my hair will begin to fall out more. So working on meditation, exercise, and trying to stay healthy is a must for me. That's about it! I hope to keep seeing results. And I will keep updating if I change any vitamins or hair products.

I have seen three different thricologists and they all think that the only products making any difference are iron supplements and minoxidil. I personally do also take biotin but according to them even that is a waste of money . FYI
October 10, 2018
Thank you so much for the continuing updates. My story is similar to yours and the frustration is definitely real. Please keep us posted on your treatment progress with the supplements and rogaine. I am curious to see how things are in another 6 months. Thanks again.
October 10, 2018
I am also curious about the naturopathic doctors; do you think it was worth seeing them? They are expensive and usually not covered by insurance. Are they the ones that told you to start taking the Milk Thistle, Omega 3, and Foliogrowth? I take a number of different supplements in the hope that my hair will return, but I think that I am just throwing my money away. I am considering the PRP, but from your story, it almost sounds like you didn't think it worked for you. I have been on Rogaine for a year as well, and unfortunately, no luck. I appreciate you sharing your story- helps the rest of us out!
October 10, 2018
I think it’s worth checking out a good naturopathic doctor. Do your research though to make sure they are reputable. Or even go to your family doctor first and request a screening of your vitamin levels, iron levels, hormone level, etc. So you can compare it to what the naturopath thinks to see if they are on base. Plus they will want to get all that info sooner or later. No, the naturopath wasn’t the one who told me to start taking the current supplements I’m on now. But the foligrowth was a pill that had all the vitamins and minerals i was looking for and ones I was deficient in. So it was easier for me to take that instead of three different supplements from the naturopath. I take omega-3 because I don’t get much in my regular diet and it’s great for skin and hair. And I take milk thistle to keep my liver healthy and able, to detoxify my body properly. The PRP didn’t work for me as much as I’d hoped. But I would still recommend it for others. I’ve heard tons of amazing things about it and what doesn’t work for one person might work great for another. Plus minimal side effects and downtime.
October 10, 2018
Thanks for the quick feedback! I will continue to try to stay positive- but with multiple failed attempts, it is challenging to say the least. Perhaps the naturopathic doctor will help me to weed out some supplements and concentrate on the ones I need. Thanks again!
October 10, 2018
I just looked up the foliogrowth and it looks promising. I'm sorry that I didn't research this sooner. Did you consider using the DHT blocker along with it? I think it is pricey for both, but people seem to like the combination and I am desperate. Thoughts?
October 10, 2018
I haven't tried the DHT blocker. Foligrowth itself has saw palmetto in it, which is a DHT blocker. So I thought I would just try Foligrowth first and if it worked then number one, I wouldn't have to spend so much money and number two, your not going overboard with the supplements and you will know which one is actually working for you. I would suggest trying Foligrowth for 4 or 5 months, if no results, maybe try to DHT blocker with it.
October 11, 2018
Great point! Why waste the money, right?! Thanks, again for your help!
