Had a consultation with Dr. Taher on May 19...

Had a consultation with Dr. Taher on May 19 regarding some self inflicted scarring on my forearm. He recommended doing fraxel laser to improve their appearance, quoting 450 a treatment and expecting between 3-4 treatments to be sufficient. He was non-judgmental about it, letting me know he has helped people with the same issue in the past. I am very excited to get my first treatment which I booked for May 24.

Day of first treatment

Had my first treatment done about 30 minutes ago. I must have heard wrong because instead of 450, I paid 250. Which made me very happy obviously. Prior to the procedure they used topical numbing cream for about 40 minutes. Despite this, the procedure still hurt, especially on the thinner skin. But the pain was bearable, and towards the end I could tolerate it a lot more. The actual lasering didn't take long, maybe 10-15 minutes. Currently my arm looks a bit red, like a sunburn. The pain is decreasing as well. I've been applying ice as recommended. Haven't taken any pain killers.

One day after treatment

The pain is gone, and the redness is still there but is slowly decreasing. The area has become itchy but I've been avoiding scratching it as instructed.
