I had a partial labiaplasty by Dr. Michael Lau.
I have noticed a difference between my left labia (which was twice as big) than the right one since I was 15 yrs old. It didn't cause me pain. Though, I found it asthetically very unpleasing. My exs have not said anything about it. But now that I am single, I decided to do the surgery for myself and take this time to heal. I have yet to see the final result since i did the surgery a few days ago. Regardless, I have been very please with my expirience. And my doctor is truly the best at what he does.

Dr Lau performed my surgery too. He totally ruined my labia. It has been a nightmare to live with. He made it seem simple and easy so I thought I could trust him. What he is doing is awful.

I'm really sorry for your experience. If it was me, I would see a different Doctor to see what can be done at this point to help things properly heal.

There is nothing medically that can be done. Once he removed the tissue it's gone for good. It's been a couple years. Still painful. Awful. This man and this surgery is wrong. This should never happen to anyone ever! If you are even thinking about it don't. It's not worth it. Ireversable perminant life long damage is not worth it. I cannot stress it enough. I cannot believe Dr Lau is still in business after what he did to me. He shouldn't be. I'm not just complaining but I'm warning other women to stay away. This is more dangerous than you can even imagine.

Labiaplasty is dangerous and falls under the female genital mutilation category. It's harmful to women's body and can create a lot of problems. This is perminately damaging to a woman's health and well- being that is why it is banned in other countries. It is not just skin as Dr Lau states, it is important connective tissue that is very vascular and important to the rest of a women's body and sexual well- being. Cutting off this tissue can have devastating and perminant negative effects. Very dangerous!

Hello, I've also had a terrible experience with this procedure. When did you have yours done?

I understand what you're saying. My decision to undergo this procedure was my own, unlike female genital mutilation, which is often a violation of the woman's choice . Additionaly, I haven't seen any damage to my health post op what so ever. I would argue that I feel better about myself and feel much more comfortable actually.
Of course this procedure may not br for everyone, but I'm glad I did it. And I'm glad Dr. Lau did a great job.

I am glad you're happy with the results and hope you continue to be. However I would argue that labiaplasty may be a woman's choice but it's a choice that's influenced heavily by the media. Young women and men only see photoshoped versions of vagina's with no labia and are led to believe their anatomy is wrong if it doesn't look like this. I have chronic pain as a result of my surgery and regret nothing more than having this procedure. The previous commentator is correct in that the real risks are ALWAYS minimized by surgeons. I would not recommend it to any others on this site.

Nice to hear that you did this surgery for yourself and I look forward to hearing about your results. Which technique did your doctor perform, trim or wedge?
