Not Sure What to Think.
I had a rhinoplasty on the 19th of August 2017 with Mr Awf Quaba. I went to him with concerns about the tip of my nose which I felt was droopy, the hump on the bridge of my nose and generally just felt my nose didn't fit with my face. The initial consultation was fine, I didn't quite know what to expect so when I went in mr Quaba asked me what i wanted and we discussed it, he showed me loads of pictures of his previous clients but not one that was exactly like mine but I went with it and trusted him as he knew what was right, right? He also mentioned that if after the surgery I had any doubt we could look at revision rhinoplasty etc. He also did actually make a comment at the time about my chin and neck and asked if I wanted liposuction on it to "fit your profile better" which I assume was to try and make me feel better about my face and get kind of a two in one, however it made me feel worse as I was already struggling with self image and loosing weight etc. I went home and thought about it all and decided to just go for the rhinoplasty, at the time I was 20 years old, I had hated my nose my whole life and I just wanted it fixed, all the pictures he showed me were amazing and if you type into google "rhinoplasty scotland" Quaba plastic surgery is the top result . I then booked in for surgery, and came back to spire for my surgery pre assesment expecting to meet with Quaba, however it was a lovely nurse who did everything for me. I emailed Quabas team afterwards asking if i could have a second consultation (just to calm my nerves) before the surgery however it was too late... I was told Quaba would see me prior to going to surgery and we would have a final discussion then. So off I went, again trusting everything would be alright, and along came surgery day, I booked into hospital where all the staff were amazing! and before it was time for me to go to theatre Quaba popped in for 2/3 minutes where we went over what I wanted and again i mentioned the tip of my nose, hump on my bridge, overall nose to suit my face more. He agreed and then left as fast as he came in! Surgery was fine and I had the aftercare staying a night in hospital and that was fine too. Mr Quaba popped in and said hi, and said it went really well etc etc. Fast forward to taking my cast off just over or under a week after the op ( I cant remember exactly when) and when the cast came off i was underwhelmed, but again mr Quaba assured me it looked better and would continue to look much better in the coming weeks and months. I did notice that my bridge was better and actually initially my nose looked much straighter than it does now (but that was due to swelling) so I was just trusting the process, and expecting my nose to transform into the nose I wanted within the next few months. One thing I have to note is that no one around me apart from the people that knew I was getting rhinoplasty noticed any difference. I was expecting my results to be transforming, I wouldn't quite say that is what happened. Along came my 6 month appointment with Quaba, I was taken in, he remarked that my nose looked straighter, and that my tip looked better, he asked me how I felt about it and I said that it looked better but i'm not sure if it was exactly what i wanted. He said that the healing process can take up to a year to show full results. He then took pictures of me and off I went. That appointment probably lasted a total of 10/15 minutes. I got an email a few weeks later asking if I consent to my images being used on his website, I said yes. I asked for bigger size pictures so I could compare them properly but never got a reply. The photos were never posted on his website, and if that doesn't say something to you about how my rhinoplasty went then I don't know what does. That leads me to today a year and 2 months post op. Ive thought many times about reaching out to Quaba again in regards to how i feel, however after reading the negative reviews about when people don't agree with his work I am afraid to do that. 5 grand out of pocket and I just feel ok about it, I dont feel more confident, I dont feel I still have the nose that frames my face perfectly, I actually feel like a non surgical nose job (filler) could have produced the exact same results. I read a review where someone described Quaba's rhinoplasties to be minimal and I totally agree. I have attached photos, can you see a difference? I hope this helps anyone looking see a real review and real "result" of a rhinoplasty from Mr Quaba.
