I have been searching for a way to improve the look of my neck (without surgery). I feel like it is where I look the most aged. A friend of mine had Kybella done about 3 months ago and she looks amazing, so I thought I'd give it a try! I should only need this one treatment. I had the procedure this morning. It is now late afternoon and I am feeling pretty good. I little sore, but that is normal. I am swollen, but not as bad as I thought I would be. Swelling should go down in 48 hours. I am prepared to wear a scarf for a few days!

Suzanne put me at ease right away. She gave me a topical anesthetic to minimize pain. She did 6 injections of Kybella - one treatment. I should only need the one treatment. The injections themselves were not painful, but as the Kybella is injected, I felt a hot type of sensation. It was pretty painful for the first 5 minutes. I felt a little sick to my stomach. It slowly got better. Suzanne had me rest until I felt well enough to drive. I probably rested for about 10-15 minutes. She also gave me a fan and ice pack for the back of my neck. It helped with the pain and overall weird feeling. She send me home with a facial band to help hold up the frog chin. There is definite swelling, but I think the facial band helps keep that down. She does not want me to use ice. The area heats up naturally from the Kybella and the heat is what does the work of destroying the fat cells. I will continue to post my progress. Kybella does its work for about a year, so I will be patient to see the overall results!

Happy to share! The reason I felt confident to get Kybella was my friend's experience (and being able to go to the same practitioner that my friend used). It is still a fairly new procedure, but I have spoke two others who have had it done (both who work at the place where I had it done). All have had great results!

Hi. I just had Kybella on Friday afternoon. The dr used less than one vial. Your neck reminds me of my neck. I had more sagging on one side. It is almost 48 hours and I have a severe red mark under my chin and I look like a bullfrog. The redness concerns me a lot I'm so nervous this will never go away!

Hi, isn't this fun!? Lol! It's been a little over 48 hours for me now. My neck is feeling less "full" and swelling has decreased. I still plan to wear a scarf today! I don't have any redness, but still some soreness. No bruising either. Did you wear a neck strap? It certainly helps. Also, just curious how many injections you had? I had six. (I am not sure how many vials I had but I think it was 3...I need to double check.) My esthetician uses a bigger dose all at once, rather than doing one vial at a time.

Honestly I don't know how many injections I had. I know he only charged me $700 and the usual cost is 1000 or 1200. That's because it was only a small amount and for some crazy reason it was hanging more on one side . It was so horrible. I'm 51 and will be 52 this summer
I did not get a chin strap, but they told me to ice it .
I think that is what caused the problem honestly. I was not that red in the beginning Maybe the product and the ice caused this effect? Just a guess
I did make my own chin strap with a ace bandage lol
My doc said my swelling won't be bad because it was a small area. I just pray this goes down soon
I feel like I will never be the same again.
Ugh!!

It will go down...my post treatment care says that swelling, redness, numbness, itching will slowly decline, and may last for 2-3 weeks. Time is your friend! ☺️

At 59, I did my first treatment March 16. My doctor injected me many many times using the grid. The bull frog swelling presented itself the next day and lasted a good three weeks. I also experienced the sensation that my bullfrog chin was filled with heavy jelly. Ribbit! I layer low and wore scarves. I also bruised on both sides underneath my jaw. The actual procedure was fairly easy until the burning sensation started five minutes into it. I mean, it is acid that's being injected and the intense burning lasted at least 30 minutes.
It's now been 7 weeks, all swelling is gone and I am OVER the moon on the results. I mean, even my husband is amazed. My doctor recommended I get two treatments to get the full affect and I'm scheduled to do a second treatment on 5/16. I'm not looking forward to the actual procedure, burning, and swelling, but I've heard the second treatment is generally easier since there is a lot less submental fat. My before pictures look very much like FabKat52. I was concerned about a sagging skin but my neck and chin appear so much firmer than they did before. I'm extremely happy with my results.

Day 2

FabKat52
I wore my chin strap sleeping last night. It was a bit annoying but I slept fairly well. I woke up looking a bit more swollen, and will be wearing most chin strap most of the day. But the good news is, I can leave the house with a scarf tied just right and hide most of the swelling! :-)

Of note: From my understanding, different practitioners do the Kybella procedure differently. I had 3 vials (I will have to double check, but I think that's correct) and 6 injections. Others have noted having only one or 2 vials, and many, many injections. Some practitioners use a "grid", and do up to 48 injections. Ouch! I am thankful that the woman who did my injections has had Kybella herself and has helped perfect the procedure through her own experience.

By the way, my friend who had the same procedure and amount of vials that I had, has experienced fabulous results in just 3 months, and continues to see improvements. I am very excited to see what the next few months brings!
