I have been searching for a way to improve the look of my neck (without surgery). I feel like it is where I look the most aged. A friend of mine had Kybella done about 3 months ago and she looks amazing, so I thought I'd give it a try! I should only need this one treatment. I had the procedure this morning. It is now late afternoon and I am feeling pretty good. I little sore, but that is normal. I am swollen, but not as bad as I thought I would be. Swelling should go down in 48 hours. I am prepared to wear a scarf for a few days!
Suzanne put me at ease right away. She gave me a topical anesthetic to minimize pain. She did 6 injections of Kybella - one treatment. I should only need the one treatment. The injections themselves were not painful, but as the Kybella is injected, I felt a hot type of sensation. It was pretty painful for the first 5 minutes. I felt a little sick to my stomach. It slowly got better. Suzanne had me rest until I felt well enough to drive. I probably rested for about 10-15 minutes. She also gave me a fan and ice pack for the back of my neck. It helped with the pain and overall weird feeling. She send me home with a facial band to help hold up the frog chin. There is definite swelling, but I think the facial band helps keep that down. She does not want me to use ice. The area heats up naturally from the Kybella and the heat is what does the work of destroying the fat cells. I will continue to post my progress. Kybella does its work for about a year, so I will be patient to see the overall results!

Day 2

I wore my chin strap sleeping last night. It was a bit annoying but I slept fairly well. I woke up looking a bit more swollen, and will be wearing most chin strap most of the day. But the good news is, I can leave the house with a scarf tied just right and hide most of the swelling! :-)
Of note: From my understanding, different practitioners do the Kybella procedure differently. I had 3 vials (I will have to double check, but I think that's correct) and 6 injections. Others have noted having only one or 2 vials, and many, many injections. Some practitioners use a "grid", and do up to 48 injections. Ouch! I am thankful that the woman who did my injections has had Kybella herself and has helped perfect the procedure through her own experience.
By the way, my friend who had the same procedure and amount of vials that I had, has experienced fabulous results in just 3 months, and continues to see improvements. I am very excited to see what the next few months brings!

I did not get a chin strap, but they told me to ice it .
I think that is what caused the problem honestly. I was not that red in the beginning Maybe the product and the ice caused this effect? Just a guess
I did make my own chin strap with a ace bandage lol
My doc said my swelling won't be bad because it was a small area. I just pray this goes down soon
I feel like I will never be the same again.
Ugh!!
It's now been 7 weeks, all swelling is gone and I am OVER the moon on the results. I mean, even my husband is amazed. My doctor recommended I get two treatments to get the full affect and I'm scheduled to do a second treatment on 5/16. I'm not looking forward to the actual procedure, burning, and swelling, but I've heard the second treatment is generally easier since there is a lot less submental fat. My before pictures look very much like FabKat52. I was concerned about a sagging skin but my neck and chin appear so much firmer than they did before. I'm extremely happy with my results.
