ORIGINAL POST

Hello RS. I know it's been said before but again...

Hello RS. I know it's been said before but again shouldn't hurt. I've scrolled through thousands of pics and procedures on this website looking for the right ones that fit my body type and have seen the success of many others asking my self over and over will this ever become my reality. I am a wife, a mother and a grandmother overall I love life, love the Lord love music, love laughing, love how I look from the neck up but I absolutely HATE my body. I am so serious, I've tried weight loss this weight loss that, prepared my body with clean eating and walking and exercise every day for LAPBAND surgery losing 45-50 pounds only to go through some very trying times within my marriage that resulted in emergency Gall Bladder removal, everything went down hill from that point on. My stomach is huge and deformed, my inner thighs look as if there's a extra vajay-jay attached and my butt has become so flat my body looks like a circle square. WHAT IN THE *&#((.
I really would like to take a trip to the "PottersHouse" and have a surgeon cut off burn off this access fat, I'm thinking LIPO of stomach and inner thighs. I really would love to love my temple again. Thank you guys for helping me in my search for the perfect surgeon. I'm thinking LIPO of stomach and inner thighs.

Surgeons really want you to be as close to goal as possible. Or at least a bmi under 35. Have you consider gastric? I had it 7 years ago at 333, I am 160 and have been 160 for over 4 years ( had a baby last year too!) I am praying for you!! You have a beautiful body and remember, we are our own worst critics!!
July 9, 2015
Hello, thank you kindly I didn't want gastric for fear of rerouting my main organs and just the stories of others that have had it, besides my insurance will only cover LAP BAND. You're right we are fearful and wonderfully made beings however somewhere I've made a mockery of that lol. I've always wanted to reconstruct my frame, I've worked out and worked out and to have never obtained the results that I desire caused me frustration

What makes a good canidate

glryb2gd
Hello guys, after surfing this site with all of the oohs and ahhs of others results I'm left with the one question. "What makes one a good candidate for MommyMakeover"? It appears that out of the country is a lot less cheaper but again that's out of the country. Does the weight of an individual determine the price of surgery, or is it the procedure or just the experience of the surgeon? Please help a sista out

During my research I have not found that weight does not contributes to the final price as such but you may find that you may require a few extra procedures such as lipo in more areas than someone who isn't carrying as much weight. Every surgery should be customized to the individual patient.

Yes this is true, every SX should be customized to the individual patient because who wants to keep getting surgery after surgery? Not ya girl. lol

The weight doesn't determine the cost, but it will determine if a GOOD doctor will operate on you or not! Also losing weight will let you see your body more and determine what really needs help and what was just extra fat, it will also get you in top health for a surgerical procedure! I am also in NY and have a similar figure and was told to lose weight before getting my work done, I have lost 100lbs and have another 75lbs to go so we can connect if you need a buddy! I am trying to get in with Dr. Miami but he is booked for 2 years!!!! He will have you looking AMAZING at a good price (everything is done in his own office so its cheaper than most doctors, and he is a true artist!) but he will absolutely not operate on you if you are too far over weight or unhealthy. I saw he canceled a girls surgery because she did not quit smoking long enough for her operation.

I applaud Dr's that refuse individuals if they don't meet the mark. I was once in a weight loss program and the nutritionist dropped me because I didn't make weight. I was heated at first but I'm learning today to respect her because I may not have seemed serious at that time. I think I'm going to get back on the wagon and get mah self together. Thank you for your comment

I so love blackswan and her story :) Big hugs to you also

Dream of Revelation or Fear

glryb2gd
Hello RS, I pray all is well! IK I haven't communicated with you guys in foreva but can I please keep it 100? Seeing all of the pics and testimonies as well as disappointments of every one that were willing to share my new desired body has been on my mind both day and night all day and all night. Recently I had this dream about a very close friend of mine and myself who had gone to DR to have mommy makeover and BBL. In my dream my friend was in a great deal of pain but she was at work, she looked so great and I remember I was so mesmerized I couldn't stop asking her questions, she even gave me a name of a Dr. and discount prices and financially it was exactly what I'm looking for. Her boss and another lady came over to me and advised me to talk to her at another time because clearly she was in a lot of pain. I remember walking away thinking "why the hell is she at work"? I also remember feeling so hopeful in the dream I started planning on how much time I would need to take off from work, a feeling of anxiety came over me because I know my husband would not go so there was a question of support. The price was great but going to another country ALONE was a nagging concern, even in my dreams. I was so caught up in the preparation and planning remember getting lost in my dreams and as I sat at a intersection the radio in my car started playing this song and I remember the lyrics clear as day saying. "DON'T GO THAT WAY-DONT GO" I'm wondering if the Holy Spirit was warning me not to go to DR, or rather I'm being warned to NOT have the surgery all together. Now I'm quite sure there's plenty ppl who have decided to go to DR and have had great success I don't have nothing bad to say about any one who have chosen that route, I'm just at a halt and it's quite discouraging PPL. I need some prayer warriors to pray for and with a sista. Thank you!!!

I would personally not go to DR. One because you do not know the doctors very well, and the standards of medical care is not the same as here. You will also be too far away to get in touch with them if you have complications later, and most USA doctors wont want to get involved to help you if you go overseas and have complications in case they end up taking the blame. The cheap price may seem worth it at times, but I just reward myself savings for the surgery everytime I meet my weight loss goal of the week. I know many women who have gone to DR with great success, so it can be an option, but here doctors will care more about your safety than your money. Many ppl go to DR and get lots of work done at once and thats very dangerous, and a doctor here would say no, come back in a few months to a year and we will do the next things. From consulting with so many doctors, I would say choose the one who really connects with you, and don't be afraid to reach out and email their office staff and ask questions. The Dr does the work, but it is the staff who you have to deal with the most, so find a place that makes you comfortable ALL AROUND. I wouldn't go to DR because I also do not speak spanish LOL

Thank you greatly for your response, I agree. I've always had concerns about leaving my home city let alone leaving and going to a whole other country. One of my RS sisters put me on to the gastric sleeve, I'm going to look further into that and see where it leads me. Thank you again:)

I have seen some really great results from the DR. Actually their results look somewhat better because I think they may take a more aggressive path. They seem more willing to combine multiple surgeries at once. However with that being said there is no way I would go to a foreign country to have any type of surgery. I am not sure if the medical regulations are to the same level as in the US. From the time you go under anesthesia, you remember nothing - so you would never have any idea what really happened. Yes the surgery fees are cheaper but then you have to go to a recovery house and don't forget travel fees. I think you should consider the whole costs. What if something goes wrong? Where do you go for follow-up? I like the idea of being able to to go back to my PS at anytime. But like I said, I have seen some great results from the DR - just not for me. I more of a practical person.

I have seen some great results also, most of the ladies that I've seen look absolutely fabulous I tell you they make it look EZ and obtainable I tell you. I do know that each individual is completely different. Think I'm going to keep searching with my indecisive behind. Thank you for your response I truly appreciate it

Hello glryb2gd, reading your journey I just had to fill you in on a few things that I've learned, know and experience from the United States, to Dominican Republic and to Mexico. I'm so happy Realself excess because it gives people a choice to talk to others on experience and you are able to get some knowledge on info you didn't know or learned here about Doctor's and surgeries. I would like to tell you a little about myself and what I've learned and experience since I started my journey. I live in the U.S. and did my research on doctor's here and also had a BBL done in Miami, Fl. I've also had Lipo done in New York City. I've search for good doctor's in the United states for years and it is like connecting the dots. I would start here in Miami, looking a good doctor then I find one in Georgia, then I would find one in Cali, then one in New York then I'm right back here in Miami trying to decide what state will I go to in order to have my procedure done. When I call up on a doctor in the united states the first thing they would say is don't go to a foreign country to have surgery. After checking out the doctor's here in united states, most don't get a patient everyday and after they give you the procedure, they send you home without any phone calls to see if you are dead or alive. I went over to the Dominican Republic with a friend because we were going to do the buddy thing and get the Tummy tuck, BBL and Lipo. Well, my friend had her procedure done but I didn't because of my EKG reading wasn't right. Well, I knew it wasn't going to be right because I always have a problem with my EKG reading until I take my stress test and then everything would be fine with me. Dr. Almonte was very truthful with me and said she didn't feel comfortable doing my procedure due to the EKG testing. I was fine with that and very happy because if she would have said ok I can do you now, I would have said, Bi*ch, are you out of your mind and you see my reading wasn't right but Dr. Almonte is a great doctor. I stayed there for a few days to have my friends out and came back home. On the other hand, looking for a Recovery house anywhere in the States, D.R. or wherever research on who they have working for them because recovery houses are there to help you with your healing and trust me, some of the girls that work there don't know what the hell they are doing because the house just want to make money. In Dominican Republic I seen everything and I was so happy I didn't do the procedures because there was NO way I was going to be able to go right back to work. In the united states, doctors are only allow to remove 5 ounces of fat from your body but in other countries they can remove more and it is safe. You see, United States have laws just like other countries. Some people feel like just because you go to other countries to have your procedures done its unsafe but that's not true. I know for a fact that the doctors in the United states would only do one and sometimes 2 procedures because they want you to come back to charge you more money. Other countries know it's safe and the reason my people say they are cheap that's is not true either because Dominican republic is a poor country and $5200 dollars to them is a lot of month and that is why a lot of women from there can't have surgery because they can't afford it. So ladies, when you are searching for a great doctor, I WOULD WANT A DOCTOR WHO DOES 2 AND 3 PATIENTS A DAY WITH A LOT OF EXPERIENCE THEN WITH A DOCTOR WHO MAY GET ONE A DAY. LETS BE SMART AND DO YOUR RESEARCH AND LOOK AT THEIR PATIENTS OUTCOME AND THAT WILL TELL YOU A LOT. I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT DOMINICAN REPUBLIC DOCTORS CAN GIVE YOU AND CLEAN, NEAT, AND THIN INCISION AND THAT IS HARD TO FIND. SO DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND HAPPY HEALING.
NOW, WHEN I LEFT DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, I WENT TO MEXICO AT THE OCC WITH DOCTOR MARTINEZ AND DR. ORTIZ AND HAD THE GASTRIC SLEEVE AND IN ONE MONTH I LOSE 34 LBS. AND I FEEL GREAT. I WISH I HAD DONE THIS A LONG TIME AGO. In 6 months I'm going back to Dominican Republic or Columbia to have my procedures done. I said to myself my get lipo done on your stomach or legs when I can lose weight all over my body with the Sleeve. My best move ever. Good luck ladies.

A New Beginning 2015, I praise God and appreciate you and RS community. I thank you for your precise and direct information and after conversing with MyWeightgoal43 who is quite inspiring. I'm rerouting my journey and considering the gastric sleeve. As it stands MVP only covers LB SX so change in HLTH INS providers may be my first step and then take it from there. I have to be honest, I was quite ignorant when it came down to Gastric Sleeve procedure I was under the assumption that it was just as Gastric Bypass and actually there's no rerouting of intestine at all. :) I truly feel a fresh wind of hope. Thank You guys

Hi glryb2gd, I once thought if I get my tummy tuck, Lipo, and BBL that would solve my problem of weight loss but after leaving Dominican Republic, I decided to do it the right way for me and that was to loss the weight first and then go back and get the procedures done. Now, I know I made the right decision because I'm so happy because I'm losing weight all over my body and I'm loving it. You see, getting lipo in one area just remove fat from that area of the body but I had to ask myself what about the other parts of your body that has fat? I would have loss a lot of money if I had the procedures done because after losing so much weight then you need to have the procedures to tighten up your skin and that is when you are going to see yourself 15 years younger. The gastric sleeve was not painful at all for me. I just had a lot of gas pain which was uncomfortable for a few days. In one month I'm down 35 lbs. and counting. So for all of the big girls out there that want to get your procedures done, you have to try to get your weight down at least under 150 to see a great shape and a faster healing time. Really, it's all about you looking great and being health at the same time.
