Before Pics

So, here are a couple of before pics.

Long overdue update

So sorry it's been so long! Yes, I'm on the other side. But lots to catch up on. I wasn't nervous, at all on surgery day. But for those who are-don't sweat it! Here's the deal: talked to the anesthesiologist for a while, before going to the surgical room. If you've vetted you PS, have faith in him/her. She told me what to expect, and what to do post-op. When we finished talking and we went in, I laid on the surgical table, she found a vein for the IV, said she was about to give me "the good stuff", and wham! No fade out, nothing. Just out. Next thing I knew my mom and a nurse were standing over me trying to wake me (I didn't want to wake up). Don't ask me about sitting up, getting dressed. I remember nothing. Wow.

If you do exactly what your PS says, regarding pain medication, you can manage any pain, just fine. Based on a conversation just before surgery with him, he ended up going with the 350cc silicone implants, rather than the 300s. It's too early to tell proportion (pics to come), but I trust his judgement. He did an areolar incision. There's debate on this, because of the potential of bacteria, but again I trust his judgment, there, too. Poor nipples look pretty beat up, though.

12 days pre and counting

So, I'm 12 days out and getting excited. Yesterday, a nurse from the PS office called for my pre-op review. Went through a brief personal and family history. I had received a detailed packet in the mail, outlining what to expect and the drugs and supplements to lay off of from 2 weeks out, until the day of surgery. I was concerned, because sadly I am a 5 hour energy addict and didn't know how that would go over (had to ask-don't want anything to delay surgery). She said to just stop two days, prior. At least I won't be a zombie, as I scurry around, trying to get everything sorted before hand. Also had release forms to sign and bring on surgery day.

I am really organized and always like to feel prepared. So, prescriptions are already filled (in case there was a hang up at the pharmacist's), I got a twofer on gauze and ice packs, Palmer's cream-they say stretch marks probably won't be an issue, unless you went way bigger than you were, but I wanted to ward off itching, if that was the case. Got a pillow with the arms on the sides, to help with being propped up, while sleeping. I will get a post-op bra from the PS, but bought an extra so that I could alternate, while the other is in the wash. The dorky side of me wanted to see what my meager boobs would look like in my bra, before surgery. I almost cried, laughing. The upside is anything is going to look better. Will post before pics, soon.
