I really found it helpful to read other people’s posts when going through my journey and decided to do my own. The best part was finding someone with a similar story, body type and goals. Here are my specs: 126lb 5’6, A cup, 34 yrs old, 2 kids, 2 C-sections. Goals: Breast Augmentation; large B or small C, natural and a Tummy Tuck to remove extra skin and distended belly pooch.
When I decided to do this I also decided to not tell everyone. Being thin and getting a Tummy Tuck is shocking news to some people, especially to the ones that didn’t know I had a lot of left over saggy skin after my first pregnancy. Clothes can hide it well. I had a very large baby when I was 20 years old. She was 11+. That is the same as having two 5 lb twins. If you have twins you can relate to how big your belly can get. I was huge. After that I never was the same. All through my 20’s I felt awful about my body. My boobs over the years also lost a lot of volume, especially after baby #2 that I had 8 years later. When I hit 30 I knew I was done having kids and I wanted the chance to feel better about myself, for myself.
I had both surgeries on January 5th.
The BOOBs:
Breasts under the muscle, 260cc, Silicone, normal round shaped ones. My doctor recommended the regular round ones over the tear drop shaped because he said over time they could get turned around in the pocket, the round ones would always look the same but the tear drop ones could look weird. I took his advice. I had my incisions under the breast, not on the nipple. I’m happy with that since the nipple is a sensitive area. I cannot even see the incisions even when I first got home. The breasts were the easiest, I probably could have gone back to work after a day or two if I only did the breast… the Tummy Tuck was not easy.
The TUMMY:
I had a full tummy tuck with muscle tightening, no drains. This kicked my a**. I went home with a binder that I have to say was like a torture device. This thing was put on so tight I could barely breathe. After 2 days of torture I called my doctor and asked if I could open it. He said I could as long as I wasn’t walking around with it off. Open it please if you feel like it is too tight. I wore this thing for an entire week with no shower. It also crept up under my boobs and made them hurt. When I went to my first week appointment I asked if I could get Spanks (shorts with a high compressed waist) and he said yes! I would recommend this the most. The thing is getting everything done actually wasn’t that painful, it was the uncomfortable binder and my back that bothered me the most. My back KILLED. I’m talking twinging, throbbing, pinching back pain. This was caused by sleeping upright, the binder and hunching over when I walked. What I had read in other stories is you can feel depressed. I’m not a depressed person and I thought knowing I could feel this way would help me avoid it. WRONG. I felt depressed on days 3 and 4. I have kids, animals and a large male kid (my husband). Not being able to be a mom, feeling useless, hearing my husband get stressed out, and thinking about worst case scenarios, it all got to me. I was an emotional mess. Day 5 I felt a little better and every day after that I felt better.
Would I recommend it? So far YES. I’m 3 weeks out and I really feel better every day and I can see that I am going to look great this summer and feel good about myself. My boobs are still stiff and my stomach muscles are still sore and I still am uncomfortable sleeping but I’m feeling better and better.
TIPs:
- Buy a big pack of granny panties. Ones that would go over your belly button. This helps hold on your bandages under your spanks.
- Buy 3 regular size bed pillows to place all under your body.
- Get a recliner. If you don’t have one borrow one.
- Spanks (any brand) shorts with high waist (tank tops ride up). Do not buy one that is super tight you can barely get it on, try it on in the dressing room. Again wear granny panties under these with your bandages.
- Hold your belly hard with your hands when you cough, sneeze or laugh. Try not to do any of these it will hurt a lot.
- Make sure you have a working thermometer to take your temp if you start to feel chills. I did every so often but my doc said not to be concerned unless it goes up to 101. Mine went up to 99 a few times but I took ES Tylenol and then it stopped happening. A low grade temp of 101 could mean infection.
- Ask for a back massage every day.
- Have someone home with you for at least the first 3 days, if not longer. My sister lives in a in-law in our house and stayed with me for two weeks.
- Get Miralax and stop the prescription pain meds as soon as you feel good enough to switch to over the counter meds.
- Buy antibacterial dial soap bar to use on your body (sparingly) for your first few showers.
- Make yourself eat something even if you don’t feel hungry. I didn’t feel hungry for the first week and lost 6lbs (remember I'm already thin so this was not a good thing). Your body needs energy to heal. Also drink lots of water.
- Do not do any activities (housework, big stairs, shopping, driving) for 5 days or more.
- Don’t pick stuff up off the floor (use your foot).
- Don’t pick up your kids or lift anything heavy. I’m 3 weeks out and I still can’t.
- I would recommend two weeks off from work but you could get away with a week and a half if you have a desk job.

I'm still wearing only comfy bras and my Spanks but I'm sure I will go shopping soon! Tried putting on an old bathing suit, it was too small up top, lol.

Amazing so far!!! We both had a great deal of excess skin beforehand. Doesn't it feel amazing to be rid of it and to actually be able to fill a bra?!? I'm still swollen and very hard and tight in my abdomen. I think mainly because of the muscle repair, but I'm being patient. Did you have muscle repair as well? How are you finding recovery?

I did have muscle repair. I get swollen everyday by the end of the day, I started taking Aleve and it really helps. I actually swell more up top under my breast bone area. My breasts are getting softer but still can't make them touch, lol. My right breast is always behind, just started being able to move it around more recently. I'm trying to be patient too but of course worst case scenarios keep running through my brain. What if I have this or that or ruin something. It doesn't help when I look at the questions on here of people having problems. My husband said I need to stop reading those, hahaha.

6 weeks!!!! Tummy Tuck!

I feel really good. I do swell a bit towards the end of the day, but when I wake in the morning I'm really flat. I actually swell the most right under my breast bone and it gets very tender to the touch.
I have been using both Mederma and Bio Oil every day. I still wear my spanks shorts and granny panties underneath (they help protect my spanks from getting all my scar stuff on it). I do have some old stretch marks left but you can really only see it in certain lights and angles and I'm ok with it.
I'm really happy with the results. I finally feel normal after 13 years (my oldest that was 11+ is 13:)
