I am 48 years young and have always hated my sagging neck/ chin area and after lots of research and contemplating kybella, liposuction, or a mini neck lift, I have decided to go through with a mini neck lift. My surgery is on Tuesday, May 17th and I cannot wait to finally feel good about my profile instead of always trying to hide it.

You are on day one of your recovery! How was the procedure? How are you feeling now?

It has been 10 days since my surgery. I am back to work. It's still hard for me to notice a difference as I am still swollen and having problems with plasma build up. I have been going in every 3 days to have the plasma drained from my neck. This is hard for me. I know its still early tho. I will post pics when I can.

Well it certainly it has been a struggle. I had my surgery one month ago. I had a mini neck lift and a little lipo out of my cheeks. It has been a battle. The first few days I slept a lot, not much pain, but the pain pills made me very tired the next few days the pain pills had the opposite effect on me and instead of being tired I could not sleep. I was begging to fall asleep but just could not. Therefore I had to stop the pain pills and just go with Tylenol. The I started retaining plasma under my chin and had to go in almost every other day and have it suctioned out. Now I am dealing with a lumpy wrinkly neck. My doctor has tried to assure me this will go away with time. It seems like it is taking forever to see results. I did a lot of research and knew going into this I may not come out with the perfect profile I wanted and that it would take time to heal. I have been instructed to keep massaging the area every day. I also have two small scars on the sides of my mouth from the liposuction. I go in next week for a laser treatment which should help with the scarring. I think I am so used to having that sagging neck that I cannot see much improvement at this point. It is also mentally exhausting to wake up one day and feel my neck looks great and the next more bulging and wrinkles as it heals. Oh well, I have to be patient! I have attached some pics of the process from before to three days after, to three weeks and lastly at month recovery.

Thanks for posting the update. I notice a big difference! The waiting is always so hard. I am also 48 and have the exact same issue as you (and live in North Dakota) so I really appreciate you sharing your updates and photos.

How are you doing now?

It is 7 months later, and still very lumpy. I must say not very happy with my results. My doctor is paying for skin tightening tho, by heating the neck area. I have had three so far and not much improvement. My neck just does want to tighten up! Some days it looks better than others.

Dr. Saldana

I forgot to post about Dr. Saldana. He and his nurse have been the most kind caring caregivers they can be. They have both went out of their way to see me in the office on a spur of the moment when needed. They are very encouraging and have answered my phone calls promptly when I call with questions. They are a good team.
